I'm building a 77 trunk, and they allow a rear hump plate. I'm pretty sure its geared more towards the full size frame cars. Would it be useful on this car or unnecessary?

Any good tips on a steering column? one joint? two joints? slider? I used two u joints. One was double u joint an other was a triple u joint. I did something special with my aftermarket column so had to use triple u joint to get the shaft to work with out binding up an yes make it slide or steering wheel gets closer to ur face as car bends.

Thanks for the help! this is my first mustang II build. Floors were gone but i got everything back together nice. Jives53, That is the same reason I am putting in a aftermarket column. Couldn't hardly get in after the cage went in, and I didn't have the door on yet.

Ok everyone I have a stang 2 for a chain n bang derby and cant decide what bumper to use. I have the stock one, or can use 5x5 3/16 square tube. Should I run stock or the square tube or is there another bumper I should use, can not load it, can weld bracket to the frame. Should I move brackets back and weld or weld in factory position? Will not compress and weld shocks. Also what about rear bumper? Run stock or the 5x5 square tube? Any options and opinions are appreciated

I've got some 80s vic bumpers would they be too hard for the front? Also would it be worth it to buy a mini spool for the 8" or take it out and weld it to posi it? How can I build a slider for it? Any ideas how to stiffen up the front leaf mount without it being noticeable haha the people at my derby dont know anything about inspecting a car and the rules are very vague so I'm trying to push grey areas as much as possible haha

On a stock car, the Vic bumper will be trash at about the same time as the car. I find it to be a good choice for stock or semi stock Fords & AMC's

Ok so go with the vic bumper then c4? Also rules say I can weld cage to frame, where would be some good spots to do this, being the back 2 tieing in the front leaf mounts

What's a good way to pull the shocks all the way out? And I read up the pinto forum and hellbent was talking about running grade 8 bolts through the shock and frame, I'm a little confused about this, also rules says I can can only weld as much as the bracket allows length wise, if I pull the shocks out and move them back should I weld the shock tube itself to the frame and not just the bracket, there is no max length of bracket or limited length of welding I can do just says cant weld anything past the bracket

Like I said people doing the derby have no idea what to do lol they take a set of rules from stirrin dirt racing here in utah and butchered them to try and make chain n bang rules haha

They state I can weld down bars for the cage to the frame, basic 4 point cage with gas tank protector. But it says at the very end of the rule that cage can be welded to frame but no kickers. Again they take a set of rules and cobble and butcher them to make their own "chain n bang" rules
