Basically the same build as a pinto. Some harder spots and some weaker. Mustang 2's you DON'T NEED TO SHORTEN!!!!

They have a pretty good, hard start from the factory. Hoping to get one in a trade pretty soon...trunk model.

Trunk body's are nice I ran one with the trunk just wired down and got 5 ferniest out of it I think. I got a hatchback in the field now waiting to be built we'll see how it does soon. Trunk bodies seem to wanna bend a lil funny around the rear window support when the back start to fold up

It's the only compact I ever built, but I learned a lot off of here, and off of a friend. A good 2.3 with a carb ,c-4 trans and an 8 inch with 4.62 gears and a mini spool. Flat stacked the leafs, and put a pre ran 76 impala front bumper on it. I put a hard a$$ cage in it with a gas tank protector and roll over bar. I tied the roll over bar into the front leaf hangers so they wouldn't blow out. This winter we built a motor protector/cradle/trans protector for it. i ran it twice with one win. Traded it off, and another win. It's getting ready to run again next week. I'm no expert, but i'd be glad to help

I am working on a hatch model right now...what are some ideas for the hatch? Take it off? Weld what I can then beat the bottom of the hatch and the tailight panel to the floor and put a bar from there to the roof?

Mustangs are great first cars...it might have an 8in in it stock..get some gears and a spool.. also i build a good gage...what your rules allow. Also i ran a hatch it had a 2.8 v6 and it held up great and still runs good. The tranny can be a couple different ones all not horrible. Ive ran the stock bumper and a different one and had better luck with the stock one; totally up to you. I didnt hit with tbe back so dunno what to do to it sorry. Good cars though and their "BUILT FORD TOUGH" (:
