Setting up the front ends on these cars is a little bit of an art from what I gather. How you do it greatly depends on the rules. Getting someone to post pictures of how they did it is probably going to be difficult for two reasons. 1. There really haven't been that many of them run because they didn't make that many of them. 2. The guys that have them figured out probably won't want to disclose their secrets. If what I end up doing works out well I will post details but this is my first shot at it.
On another note, if the car is clean and you decide you don't want it I'd be happy to buy it from you. I'm willing to pay for these cars.

I figured its going to be hard to get pics i've only seen a few around. And my rules lets me put any style of shock canister but has to be mounted in stock manner. And i have to find some kind of front ender type of car cuz i can't drive backwards very good and i drive older caddies alot and they don't like how i build them so im trying something different and i don't like mopars lol. I just plan on backing into the corner and nose with it all nite. Do you know if the front frame rails come up in front of the firewall like a 73 riv?
And i'll keep you mind if i sell it.

Here are pics of my Rivvy. The car was built to relatively stock rules. Stock body mounts, weld doors, weld front and rear bumper, wire trunk, no DP. The frame on this car was spotless, but the body left a little to be desired. I patched what was allowed within the rules, but wish I could have gone a little further with it. I would say that running a Rivvy in a stock show where you cannot weld washers over the body mount holes is a waste of time. Front frame was shortened. This car bent just like any other 70s GM, and it bent hard right in the body mount holes at the firewall. I was very disappointed. Obviously a DP would make a huge difference. All this talk of taking a Rivvy to the bone stock show at MM, I don't think I would do it. Fortunetly I was convinced to pull the front back down and put three patches on the front, one on the drivers side rear, and run it again, I got a win out of it, but still would say that the car was overall a disappointment. The back kept bellying on drivers side in the back, but never blew the humps, which I think could be attributed to the body being somewhat rusty at the rear window lip and down low around the rocker on the rear fender. I fixed the fender lip, but could not fix the rest of the exterior body rust. After the first run, ended up 9th. After the second run, got 1st.

Junked this fresh 74 Chevy front bumper in one heat on this car. It was seem welded but not stuffed. Pointy and a new clip and she is ready to roll again. Front end did not move. Ass folded in decent but they are kind of soft in my opinion. Gonna be a noser on the next run. Overall very pleased with the car.

I always run rally's...guys say they bend too easy...I say that they are easier on ball joints and axles. Do I go through a lot of them, yes I do. Haven't lost an axle in 15 years though. I'd rather have to switch rims often than replace axles.

I'd rather have to switch rims often than replace axles. I agree with this 100% thats why i ran them up front to save on ball joints etc etc>>> i dont worry much about the axles i dont normally break them just make sure tires are not turning when hit lol easier said then done

OK guys, I just picked up a '76 Riviera for the 2013 season. Stock derby, where rules are all but non-existent. Local small pay show though, so I ain't dropping big cash in rear end swaps, etc.. From what I see here is what I'm looking at: - Knotch/double notch like all other GM's. - Replace body mounts and reinforce with washers. ( hope I can get to the ones onder the firewall) - Weld bumpers solid - Tuck the rear (If I leafed it, probably wedge it instead) - Crease sides - Like a caddy--use the front!
What else? Anything major? Note my location, so PM'd secrets are safe with me. I ain't leaving Alaska.

I've seen one of these runs. Looked like it was built pretty well. Sort of like dasimzy06s, but it had a little more tip to it. And the quarters might've been creases. However, it got shoved up onto the wall in the first 5 minutes of the heat. Didn't come back to consi, and it didn't look hurt at all.
