So im starting on my first riv, its a 76, im gonna either run the brackets up front or hardnose with a 74 impala or monte bumper, back will be brackets and impala rear bumper, tucked trunk with 1" rod, notch and dimple. body mounts removed, extra bolt in the humps, double u joint steering, sbc with cradle, pp, and dp, nerat slider. anything else I should look into? its rust free and very clean.

Is there any way you guys could help me out on the fronts of these 74 rivis. We ran our first one at MM and we didnt have that great of luck with it and was wondering if I could get any pointers on them. The main problem for me is it gave bad at the cowl is their any fix to that for the next rivi I build? It will be built to MM rules if that makes a difference. hey 77b the way I do all of my mopars Is with 1" allthread from the firewall mount up through the cowl and tied into my hood with BIG washers (I usually make mine out of 1/2" steel)so the nuts don't rip through the sheet metal. my theory on this is it would be way harder to belly the front if it has to pull the whole cowl/roof pillars down with the frame when it bends instead of the frame being able to separate from the floor boards a lot faster. then carefully place your 4 remaining allthread in the spots on the frame you can tell will be substantially weaker now that the firewall wont want to let the car belly out near as fast. by the design of the rivi frames from the pics above I would tie it together between the a arms and the firewall with the next two with the last two through the core support. depending on how you mount your front bumper it should want to start bending between the bumper brackets and the front of the a arm before the car starts to belly out. I have never worked on a rivi but have seen this work well on old fords, mopars, and MOST 74-76 gm's. caddies and rivis are a totally different animal than the normal 74-76 gm's though so im not sure as I have never gotten a chance to build one but I haven't had any problems bellying out the front of any of the cars that I have ran with this allthred trick applied to them( 1970 Plymouth fury, 1978 Cadillac, 1981 vic, and a 78 doba so far)I don't think my limited weld rules are quite the same as mm rules but I hope this helps bud

And most cars won't pull down, they bend in front of the firewall or behind it
