Is there a difference between a 63 one ton and 63 one ton cab and chassis frames? If so how do I know what to look for and is one better than another?

Your talking like 1 ton flat beds or dump trucks? Vs a regular 1 ton pick-up? That I'm unsure about, but I'd love to know if there is a difference.

How about a 89 f250 4x4? Rules, 14" homemade brackets, 5 mph bumpers welded, kickers to front not passed front axle, rear cage to frame, from halo bar 3" pipe to 2nd to front bed bolts, replace body bolts with 1/2" and 6" washers, no wedging bed rails.

They're kinda soft, but better than nothing. build in the gray areas as much as you can. Build the $hit out of it, It may hold together ok. Plate as much as you can. Definitely build the cage and kickers like your rules say. The weak point on that truck will be behind your bumper brackets, and in front of your front kickers. I had one that year model buckle in that area, and it about took my engine oil filter off. Mine was leaf sprung front axle too.

it's pretty much the same as the truck Wilky88 was asking bout, or the others asked about above. Depends on your build sheet. If your just wanting to have fun in a stock no weld class run it & scrap it. If you want to run it in a full weld/modified show sell it & buy a 70s or older you'll get junked, unless you have allot of luck. Our want to build the$hit out of it like Wilky88 said his rules allowed.

I like to weld a sheet of 1/4in plate from 2in in front of the door all the way back to 2in onto the bed. I think it holds the bed in place better. And I mount my door bars on the inside round abouts bumper height. The dash bar usually ends up right under the steering column. Can be tough on your knees, but I like it low to keep my broke ribs out of the door bar. But that's just me. Also our rules allow a roll bar in the bed with two kickers from the bed floor to the back of the roof or halo. Since yours is a 2wd it's safe to say it's not a high boy, so you should definitely hold the bed to the cab as much as possible, and use a kicker to halo, or cab option if your allowed, because I've seen trucks bend in the middle and cause the seat to be shoved toward the steering wheel quite often. These are just what I do to mine.

Saw that done allot online, but I've not done it yet, I usually run a softer bumper on the back. like an 80s vic bumper or something. I would gather have something other than Sheet mertal holding my frame rails together back there, But something that'll bend & cushion the impact and take some impact off the frame.
