I tried a softer rear bumper this year and it made the frame worse. The bumper v'd in in the middle. That caused the the frame to kink both frame rails over the rear axle and pull together. Went to hell after that

Interesting. What type of bumper do you prefer? And what type of truck was the softer bumper on? I had a 80s Ford once that I ran a 76 gm bumper on the back of and a flatty in the front, that truck bent all kind of funky, with the straightest hits I could make...

It was a rear Mopar bumper of some sort on the back of a 2000 superduty. I prefer square tubing for a rear bumper but a good 74-76 gm front bumper works too. Ive even put chrysler pointys on the back

I have a 85 f150 2wd. What are weak points and tips to fix them? Frame is solid except where rear bumper brackets attach to frame skid loader bent that when the guy loaded it on the trailer.Another question is on wedging the box is it worth it or not? Thanks for any help and tips.

Page 12 & 13 we talk about the same topic. I personally haven't ever wedged a truck. Too much like work... LOL not worth it to me. I guess if ya truck sat real low in the back it would be a good way of taking out wheels & tires, & turning over opponents.

Anyone ever run a 360 ford engine? If so are they worth a damn? I've got a spare 351m in case the 360 in my '73 f-250 blows up

Okay another question guys. Whats the best way to raise an 85 f150 in the front, top of the front bump is sitting factory at 25" and we are allowed 5 more inches. I was told just weld a piece of solid steel inside the coil, but I dont see how that would work so well. Any tricks or pictures with explanations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any advice.

When adapting a 80's gm 4x4 front axle to the front of one of 57-64 trucks, what do you guys use for a steering link from the steering box to the front axle? I have to keep the stock box as no frame mods are allowed or do Chevy boxes fit on pretty easy or what is the going normal? Any help is appreciated.
