99 f150 1/2 ton? Currently still driving it but when the power train goes it's getting smashed. A arms look like they need swapped and obviously the bumper. What about the crush box? Do they need done up like a crown Vic?

I ran one 2 yrs ago. Thought it would be tough. It was a 4x4 leaf sprung up front too with a Mopar flat bumper on the front. I went up against a 65 ford truck. My frame twisted like a pretzel. I'll never use an 80s- 90s Ford truck again. I have a 72 twin I beam 2x4 Ford truck now that has been run in 3 derbies so far, and frame is still straight as an arrow. Also ran that one against the same 65 ford that junked my f250, held up fine. Still kicking. If I had your f250, I'd scrap it & take the money & find me a 60s-70's Ford truck.

Any tips on a 2000 ford f250 super duty 2 wheel drive. Was a 7.3L diesel. Built a sbc 350 to put in it and either a th350 or th400 transmission.

If so the shackle points and spring mounts are the only really weak points..replace rivits with biggest strongest bolts possible. I've seen them break out of the frame. Replace spriing eye bolts with biggest possible.

Yes it is... you mean replace the u bolts and had leaf. spring clamps..do you think it should have a 4x4 front end

4x4 front end will get you more bumper height, I can't say that they're tougher really, because they'll bust at the hogs head where the axle tubes attach. But I've seen allot of them in derbies last a long time. And I mean replacing the U bolts, and spring eye bolts, and rivits that hold the spring pockets to the frame with grade eight stuff. It'll keep your suspension on longer. Since The object in truck derbies is to knock their wheels or suspension out.
