The snout of the convertor has to sit snug in the hub adapter. I've had hub adapters before that were loose and cracked a flywheel.

Ive also dealt with a torque converter snout being to large. Kinda noticed something wasnt right sucking things together, definetly could have sucked it tight. El cheapo replacement converter from part store fixed it, but also something to watch for.

^^^ You would be farther ahead to purchase a LS style vehicle manual.. Then start tracking down all the wiring needed.. Need the computer also. Plus high pressure fuel pump.. Quite a lot to it actually.. Maybe someone has a crash course for minimum needed..

lt1swap.com has everything you need to know. www.lt1swap.com/wiringharness.htm pinouts I've done 2 setups using information from here, 1- 2002 (cable) 5.3 and 1 - 2003 (drive by wire) I like to use the bussman 15303 fuse box instead.

Looking for proper spark plugs to run in these LS motors for derby application... Which ones are you guys running? TR5's or NGK 4554? Going in a 5.3.

Can anyone tell me where the iron heads tend to crack at? I wanted to look in the right area before wasting time taking them to a machine shop to get check and finding issues.

Out of curiosity I see a lot of street motor guys running coil per cylinder set up on both carb motors and last motors with a 411 ecm swap has anyone here messed with this type of set up in a demo application? Trusty well set up gen 1 with all the ignition bells and whistles of an ls sounds like a killer set up to me! Any of the baldwin guys try it yet?

All the reading I've done here, only seen one person make use of factory efi. Looking for experience based opinions on using the ecm. Not for derby applications, but I have several running factory EFI outside the donor vehicle. Need the PCM, a harness (I use modified factory ones), and some tuning software. I have a local guy cut up my harnesses, and he gets into the computer with HPTuners to delete VATS so it'll run standalone. I bought HPTuners software for my turbo car but haven't tried using it yet. There are tons of guys online that'll flash your PCM for $50 to run standalone. I'm too dumb and impatient to cut up the harness myself so that costs me another $250, but it's not entirely necessary if you don't mind 6 miles of extra wire

Jeffy's fab farm can sell you everything you need for it. Lt1swap.com can do all the work for a street engine with factory settings. As for stripping a harness you can depin and add fuses and relays in a couple hours.

I'm running a 2002 1500 with the 5.3 in about 6 weeks. Will be running the engine stock with fuel injection. Any tips?

I run a 2002 5.3 and an 03 5.3 with fuel injection both. One is drive by cable and the other is drive by wire. Make sure to fuse a few of the power to the sensors, relay to the fuel pump, change valve springs, and have somebody tune it to allow 6900 r's also adjust how long it take before the ECM will allow for additional fuel to be added when the throttle is mashed to the floor, I think the stock tune requires the throttle to be 90% open for 60 seconds before it will add extra fuel to make it not run lean, which almost all will be. Delete the wires needed according to lt1swap.com or don't and just get rid of what you don't need and wire power to the required lines according to lt1swap.com. I personally love the fuel injection, both of my motors run extremely well, and now i'm starting to play with decapping injectors and running e-85 after I build my injector test setup to determine the actual flow rate and get a close matched set.

I've been going through starters in my 6.0 like crazy. 2 in a day recently. I put the motor together a coupe years ago and never had problems before. Any suggestions?
