Careful with chaining humps. Try and go around seams, not through. seams on these cars can blow apart bad enough without giving them a starting point.

So I missed the derby this year. my truck broke down and took up my time. Still working on the pinto though, it will just be next years car. Anyone got tips on how to break tire beads and any tips on inner tubes?

Anyone got tips on how to break tire beads and any tips on inner tubes? It'll be that much better next year. If you have nothing for breaking beads, and old school bumper jack can work...if you're not worried about cutting a slot for it in your pickup bumper. Tip for tubes: toss a little powder in the tire before installing the tube. I use baby powder.

Who knows I might find a tranny for the 2.3 before next year.

If it's a 5 speed...great. If it's a 4 speed with 1st & reverse right next to each other, they'll last as long as your mindful of how you shift. You must be slow, deliberate and gentle putting it in reverse. If you're a gear jammer, you'll blow out reverse. Went through a couple of those before I learned how to treat them.
