Stupid question, where is the dipstick on a 2.3? I can't seem to find it or where it was supposed to go.

Has anyone flat stacked rear leaf springs and removed the rear leaf spring hanger. Just welded it straight with a fixed mount? Was gonna weld hump plates in also. Any tips on strengthening the fronts? We have to have a 1/2 gap from engine to protector to firewall clearance. I have two 1976 mustang two hatch style and 1978 pinto wagon.

Welding solid will help alot for leaf but the front mount will need to be braced so the mount can't push forward. I've saw it with cage plate bolted through to steel holding leafs and then a piece of b7 one inch pushing tight against floor from seat bar as like a kicker to make sure it couldn't move. Im sure there is different ways but this worked for him over many years.

Went pretty good til he took a half track shot to the LR corner and everything shifted to right 6inch or so. A lot can be done up front. No matter what they can go side to side bad if hits aren't square. Like with anything else tie in as much s possible, as solid as possible. An run as long of bumper shocks as you can get by with.

I ran one pinto wagon before but didn’t really do much to the front. When you mean tie in the front are you adding material? Rules only allow to weld one seam firewall forward. Also trying to figure out tire sizes to use also. To get proper bumper heights. - I am going to flat stack the rear leafs with fabricated mounts for front and rear and tie it in to the down bar for the cage

Seam welding, hood hold downs, mounts, bumper shocks, ect. Think about that stuff with an open mind before just doing it. Use what you are allowed to strengthen the week spots. Look and see where bend points would likely be and see how you can counter it. And here or there do something the inspectors will hate, and dare them to make you cut. Just be decent in inspection line when they call your bluff. It will get you further ahead the next time you are in line.

What size wheel and tire combos do you guys like to run? Are you running full beadlocks? Stock wheels? Narrowed? Trying to figure out bumper height and get pets collected this winter

Anyone have pics of where the roll cage should mount on the floor in a runabout?

Flat stacking leaf springs, pros/cons on moving axle below spring? Ride height is going to be to low if axle is above spring like factory

Ride height will be low with axle on top but should be fine. You want it pretty low. That is what you take wbody axles out with.

Got the the 2.8 v6 out of the s 10 we had and it's tranny and stuffed it in there, it was a very tight squeeze! Now we're just trying to tune carb so that it will keep running. For some reason we can't get it to idle, tried all vacuum sources for leaks, it's possible we have missed one somewhere. Still, even with a wonky carb, she wants to move! (had it in gear by accident!)
