I would still need a pressure regulator and return line though right? Otherwise the pump will poor into that feed line and build up high pressure to either burst the fuel line or start burning up the pump? The returnless design uses a pressure regulator attached to the factory in tank pump. So I would have to use my own inline regulator if I use my own inline pump? Regulator yes, to keep it from flooding, or jamming the injectors open. The pump will slow down or even stop pumping when the line reaches the pump's maximum output. Just make sure your line is rated for higher psi than your pump.

Do these late 90s (mine is 1999) Escorts have a return line?? I heard that they dont have a return. Can I still use my inline high pressure fuel pump? DemolitionMission I sent you message through your page but I will also provide a reply here. I understand your wanting to use an aftermarket external fuel pump setup but the escort stock pump are pretty strong and beefy. I do not see them breaking of inside of a tank as the stock fuel pump is 3-4 times the size of other fuel pumps normally found in GM style cars. I have a Steel boat gas tank all set up for the ford escort build with a factory pump installed in it. If you would like to use it or want some pictures of the tank please do not hesitate to ask I will try to help you out. Also I know the reason for you asking about the single fuel line here is because of me mentioning it to you on youtube before you got to the day of changing the tank and running into this problem as I did. Willing to help you out however I can man. I cant run any demos this year and would love to see my stuff go to some use. Again best regards let me know if I can help you out?

Idk just going off what I've been told, I don't find running a return line to be that huge of an issue.

Should I use plastic fuel lines that the car comes with or should I go get some rubber fuel line

Are they softer flexible plasticy lines? Or rock hard plastic? My 91 FWD Lincoln had soft plastic lines running the whole car. I tied them into my fuel tank in the back seat. Kept it plastic from under floor all the way to engine. Never had any problems even with engine breaking motor mounts twice and flopping all around.

Does anyone know if the 13" escort wheels will clear the calipers on my 95 escort with 14" wheels 13" wheels do not fit a 95 escort, grinding the caliper does not fit either. decided that rear brakes would be good enough so I removed the front calipers to use the 13s.

Once again..... I'll never understand removing the brakes from your drive axle.... its just a county fair car to go out and have fun in. ill most likely have the car trashed before I ruin the tranny or break a CV.

I agree with jives, taking brakes away from your drive axles can be a bit sketchy, and def when you're addrenaline is pumping. Pretty hard on the driveline not slowing it down a bit before slapping through gears as well..They do make nice mini skiddies for 14's, if it's an option for ya

Under normal circumstances i would keep the front brakes and get a set of tires for the 14s. I bought the 13s with doubled mud tires for $40 for the pair. Ive dealt with losing brakes on drive tires before i know its not desirable. Last year was my first and last year for pro mod v8s lol i went all in and spent a lot of money and just now get most of it sold off, so im going in with this one on the cheap

So I got a 81 yes 1981 mercury lynx wagon same car as Ford escort has anyone ever ran one if so how did it go also any suggestions on motor and tranny combo it has the 1.6 with the mtx2 i believe 4 speed but the guy said it won't shift any info on this car would help thanx greatly
