Anyone know what this sensor/wire is? Located right at the corner of the engine up front. I managed to move all other wires to safe places, but this one will get hit eventually. 1999 Escort.

Will have to remove and check. If it is indeed a knock sensor, Can I run engine without it? you can on gm stuff but idk bout fords. I would venture to say yes tho. What year is that ? It's either that or a cam sensor. A pic showing how it bolts on would def tell.

Do these late 90s (mine is 1999) Escorts have a return line?? I heard that they dont have a return. Can I still use my inline high pressure fuel pump?

If it doesn't have a return line coming out the tank or a pressure regulator on the rail, one line should be all you need.

I would still need a pressure regulator and return line though right? Otherwise the pump will poor into that feed line and build up high pressure to either burst the fuel line or start burning up the pump?
The returnless design uses a pressure regulator attached to the factory in tank pump. So I would have to use my own inline regulator if I use my own inline pump?
