What's the difference between the 3300 and the 3100 Totally different animals. The 3300 is loosely based on the 3800 where the 3100 is based on the 2.8.

93 Buick Century V6 3300. No spark. Was told the crank shaft sensor was the problem, changed it (it was junk) went to start it, just cranked and cranked. I put a test light and got a good reading all the way up to the prongs where the coil packs go but the spark plug tester showed no spark on any plug. A friend had a spare pair of the same exact coil packs so I swapped them out and still nothing. I'm lost. An ideas?

Oreillys or most auto parts store can test the module, part the coils bolt to, I would start there.

You mean the clip or the prongs where the coils go on? I have power at those prongs so wouldn't that mean the module is good?

The base your coils bolt to ? That's what I'm assumming ICM reefers to, how'd you test it ?

Yes I took the base where coil packs go onto the prongs to advanced and it tested good.

Could the computer be locked in theft/security mode?

I will check the computer ground. Could it be as simple as bad spark plug wires?

Could the computer be locked in theft/security mode? I've never personally encountered cats on any A-body cars, it's my belief they were never equipped with it. You tested your coil pack too ? First place I usually start is with an inline spark tester.

I swapped out coil packs for different good ones and still nothing. I just find it odd I'm not getting any spark to any plugs.

I swapped out coil packs for different good ones and still nothing. I just find it odd I'm not getting any spark to any plugs. you have verified it's indeed lacking spark and not fuel ? Not trying to be a dick here but I've seen defective electrical components work on one car and not another, or go haywire while sitting on a shelf for no apparent reason. What I'm trying to get at here is unless you have tested and ensured the parts you trying to swap on are working your kinda wasting your time. If your coil is good, and since you tested your ICM already, I would find the pin out for the ICM and hardwire your power to it, instead of coming from the ecm. Then if still not spark would test the wires and components that fire the ICM. I had this same problem on my first A-body, the info is online to test the brfore mentioned components.

The one's I tried were out of a running car and put them back in and they started the car. I might try and go the hard wire route. I'm taking it up to a friend who has a scanner and I'm just gonna see what codes come up.
