Welded to the side of the frame as high as possible and flush with that crossmember

How come to leave the rag joint? I've always melted the rubber out and welded solid.

I would cut the bumper off and find a set of bop brackets welded solid and used factory bumper bracket holes and through bolt that’s how I’ve always mounted mine...so it’s overtop of the front cross member puts more stress on top/ sides bumper usually goes up but stays flat on the front. I can also say that it’s easiest to fix it this way instead of mounting solid It’s going to bend somewhere..I’ve had good luck doing it this way imo and lose the rag joint there not good for anything in this sport no matter what type of car

Buick, olds, Pontiac = bop. just put a post in the wanted parts thread. If you want to make a steering column then vic heim joints work on suicide steering boxes you can usually get them from mop, nlr, probably nerat. or if you just want to stay cheap then just cut it out the rubber and weld it together

Interesting, so is this hard nosing as well? Bops have always been my go to simply because my rules won’t let me hardnose I really don’t think they hold up that great but get me by
