You have to totally tear the trans down to swap out tail shafts since 4x4s are too short

Something is lose. Do you have the proper shift lever on it. Stock they have a rectangle hole not a round hole. The shaft is actually square on the end to keep stuff from slipping. Same with on the inside.

i figured it out last night once i tore it apart the square hole that was supose to be there was rounded out due to the loose nut on the rod comming out of the shifter (called the paw rod or something like that)

I am going to be taking in a th350 tranny in to high school to rebuild it. I have a couple long shaft and short shafts laying around. I was wondering what is the difference in them and which one is tougher for derbying.

Same thing. They just were used for different applications.

short tail is better for a derby .the long tails will brake easily

If the vacuum isn't hooked up on a turbo 400 will it take off in second gear only?

Anyone know which line (top or bottom) is the pressure or return line? Im wanting to try a new cooler idea and would rather not dump fluid everywhere figuring which is which. Thanks!
