Will the backing plates from a 10 bolt c clip fit a 10 bolt bia? No the bolt pattern is different. C clip is striaght, bolt in axles are canted.

I don't know where to get new ones but 10 and 12 bolt backing plates fit. The 12 bolt is bigger brakes though.

I know it's buried in this thread somewhere, but I'm double checking before I spend my time disassembling everything.
I have a 72 Pontiac 12 bolt c clip and a 74 Impala 10 bolt C clip. If I buy a C clip eliminator from nerat, I just put the spiders from the Pontiac in a 10 bolt carrier machined out to accept the larger 12 bolt axles and I'm good to go correct?

The older 8.5 carrier gets a little thin at the bearing, it's better to use a 8.6 carrier.

Which trucks had the 8.6 carrier?

Which trucks had the 8.6 carrier? Mid 80s up or cars with 30 spline axles.

If someone could help me out that would be great, what is the distance from the flange (the side closest to the wheel) to the axle (side closest to wheel) it’s a 10 bolt rear with 12 bolt axles
