Here is a bone stock 5.3 with the original junk yard plugs, wires & oil filter. In other words just the way it came out of the 01 Suburban it was in. 200K + miles on the engine. I used a JET 500 2G on it. I did not get a chance to dial it in & was running a little to much fuel pressure to the carb. I actually got a chance to run with my son the first time he has ran in this heat. He is in the yellow 73 Impala Thanks to Joker for helping out with these engines. They are a BLAST to run. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygxPMWLAmbA&list=PLC28CCCF17D40316E&index=5&feature=plpp_videoHere you go joker

So I got bored last night and decided to start reading this thread and the smb thread to. What's better?
There seems to be more sbm at a reasonable price to buy. But the bbm there is only like 5 in my surrounding area on craigslist, I've searched up to 150 miles, at a decent price...under $500.
I'm wondering bc I'm thinking about trying to build up a motor and after reading this thread who wants to build a sbc lol ;D

What are you guys doing to the front fenders to prevent this? This is the front passenger side fender. It got pushed in and then I couldnt steer. Do you cut the fenders and roll them up or do you cut them out completely/ Looking for some help because I dont want it to happen again. This car is an 85 5th avenue. Right now I'm working on a 83 new yorker and want to avoid something similar from happening. By the way, after running the new yorker just around the yard, I hear the water in the radiator gurgling and boiling. It worries me. I just ran the 5th avenue in the pictures a few weeks ago and never heard it getting hot. Anything I need to check or do about the temperature. This is the drivers side....not too bad. Car has another run in it some time. I cant tell by the pic but if your allowed fully seam weld especially on the front of the car. Creasing every possible line also seemed to help the A0 car when we built it. I'll see if I can find a pick of his.

Any difference between a 71 olds vista cruiser and the 74 wagons a lot of people run? Or they about the same?

Will 9 wire from the roof around the frame help that? Or does just some simple all thread through the back do the trick?

This is the car I posted pics of fresh....a little dirtier now. After it's second run, got 3rd with it last night. Think she's got one more left in her. ;D The mud almost blends in with the original color of the car ;D
