Thinking of buying a set of Gm lift spindles, but was wondering what people’s thoughts are on them before I spend the money.Has anyone ran them? If so did you have any issues? Just hate to spend that kind of money if they are junk..Thanks

Any time you move the tire mounting point that much you have clearance issues.

Iv ran them for several years. They work awesome until you take a nasty wheel shot and then it bends the spindle pin. Then they are junk. Unless you have the ability to get a new pin made. The good thing is tgat even when they were bent to hell the wheel never fell off or looked up. I went through two sets before I gave up on them. For $250 or whatever, they are a cheap upgrade but they will not last multiple runs. Now if you built an axle saver for them they might be awesome. I gave up on the R&D and bought a used set of Joker spindles

I know metric gm upper a arms have a lot of drop but didn't think even they would clear.

No issues there that I recall, I really don't remember. I ran chrome ss wheels with 3/8 full centers and narrowed nissans. No idea about clearance on a stock wheel. They are not as good as real derby purpose built spindles but they do work and are cheap. If I didn't find a used set of Jokers I would have just bought another pair of the ebay lift spindles. Only because of price and my detby budget. They work but are not any stronger than a stock spindle because they have a stock pin, bearings, and rotor. The body of the spindle is definitely bigger and likely stronger than a stock spindle. But they still have the stock pin which is the weak link.

I’ve been thinking of buying a set for my Caddy. The rules I am running to state that it has to be ethier a stock type spindle or we can run the lift spindle. No other Fabricated spindle are allowed.I have ran one Caddy with stock suspension and never had any trouble with steering just the fact of not having the height I would like.Glad to see this I may try them out.

I’d do the lift spindles if you are having trouble with height. There are other alternatives but that would be the easiest

You can cut the rotor off and just use the caddy hub, bearings, races, and seals. You will need a nut and washer off a chevy truck. Then you must make steering stops or you will brake boxes. And you will need a 7degree ball joint ream and a grinder to make everything fit. It's not a direct swap.

What I am calling the pin is the actual spindle. Not the knuckle which is the whole unit. The pin is the part the bearing rides on. It is pressed into the cast knuckle.
