2017 Jim Falls Sturgeon Fest

Open class, and mod midsize cars must be on grounds and in inspection by 11am, any car after this time will be assessed a $100 fine or will not run!
You will have only 2 attempts to pass inspection before you are loaded!
Only drivers in the feature of top 5 cars will be allowed on the track after the feature for re-inspection.
If you stretch any rule such as hump plates you will completely remove item, double check the tape measure.
Open class full size with feature payout $3000, 2500, 2000, 1500, 1000 with $500 heat wins and a heat and feature predator $500, $100 preregistration by August 1st, 40 spots maximum or $200 day of show, 300 after noon day of show!

Any year vehicle 1960-2013. NOT ALLOWED TO RUN: 1974 and older Chrysler Imperials, 2003 and newer Ford's, Mercury's or Lincoln's including suicide Lincoln's
**NO distributor protectors ** NO steel, or aluminum transmission bell housings allowed, unless approved contoured jw ultra bell for fixing broken trans. Basic motor mounted cradle with pulley protector are allowed, Must use factory or after market rubber grommet style frame mount. sway bar cannot be in contact with pulley protector at any time.** Only contoured transmission protectors allowed but must not be used for any other purpose or you will not run, protector cannot be more than 2" wider than the factory housing..Transmission must be free floating if running protector with 2" gap from contacting anything at firewall and cross member . Do not alter the firewall or floor to add strength. **No mid plates allowed unless used solely to change trans bolt pattern, and do not exceed 2" wider or taller than transmission.
** Top seam may be welded firewall forward on pre 1980 cars, weld not to exceed 1/2" wide. **Tilting front by cutting, moving & re-welding is legal (1/4") bead on 1980 and newer cars or 80s and newer vehicles may cold bend at cross member, no added steel other than 6" angle for mounting cross member.
**Safety: Functioning seatbelts, Helmets, Eye Protection, Long pants, sturdy shoes or boots are mandatory. Racing Suit recommended.** All air bags and charges must be completely removed before arriving to track for competition.
**Preparation: All glass, headlights, tail lights, chrome, fiberglass header panels, carpeting, antennas, hubcaps, wheel weights, and garbage must be removed before coming to the track for competition. Trailer Hitches must be completely removed.
**Gas Tanks: Factory gas tank MUST be removed, In place you must use a 10 gallon max steel tank to be mounted on floor directly behind driver, or off rear bar. Must have clamped fittings to tank. Only approved fuel lines may be used. Pump gas only. Tanks must be bolted, chained, or 2 ratchet straps to floor and be very secure to pass inspection. NO FACTORY GAS TANKS ALLOWED... (Fuel Tank Protectors will be allowed off rear seat bars, Nothing to frame, 30" wide maximum, 6" above floor minimum, Fuel tank Protectors are for that purpose only - All sedans may be tight but not welded or secured )No taller than 6" above tank, mounted straight up, not at angle. No altering sheet metal!
**Batteries: Only 1 or 2 automotive type batteries or 1 larger style battery of choice is permitted. Batteries must be mounted to floor on front passenger side of vehicle, 6 bolts max, none to frame. Must be covered and secured firmly to pass inspection.
**Windshields: Must be removed before arrival for competition. In place: 2 chains, or straps mounted from firewall to roof vertically for driver safety. Must use bolts or welding to secure.
**Hoods: (6 spots max) Must have a minimum of 12" hole in hood in case of fire. To hold hood down you are required a Minimum of 2 (36" maximum) chains, wires, or threaded rods (maximum 1" diameter). Threaded rod must run through frame at core support bolt spot. Maximum of 6 chains, wires, or threaded rods may be used. Only 2 threaded rods can go to frame, vertically only, other 4 rods bolted sheet metal to sheet metal. Rods cannot extend out of hood more than 6". Hood plates used with rods should not exceed 6"x6"x3/8" in size. You may use up to (10) 3/8" max. bolts per hood to secure hood webbing when cutting out hood. If hood does not cover fan, fan must be removed. Core support spacers must not exceed 6" in height. May be welded to frame not body.
**Doors: May be welded outside skin completely vertically 3" wide by 1/4" thick strap with minimum overlap, you may use 5 on 5 off horizontally. or chained. 8 spots of chain or wire per door , Chains cannot exceed 36" Top door skins may be bent over and 3 2" welds to secure with no added steel.
**Trunks: 5 on 5 off... maximum 1/4" x 4" plates, the following items may be used to secure trunk lid: wire, cable, chain, threaded rod or welded plate. ONLY (2) rods maximum 1" diameter may connect to frame. Rods may go through mount or be welded vertically to frame between the mounts with no more than 6" of weld. Top trunk lid plates for rods cannot exceed 6"x6"x3/8" in size. Do not exceed 4" round or square for plates inside trunk to secure if bolting in rods. There must be a way for us to see inside trunk for inspections. Trunks cannot create a ramp effect. 12" maximum dish from factory position , do not remove speaker deck. Trunks may not be moved forward or flipped and may only be tucked maximum of 50%. Mopars may weld all trunk seams 3"x 1/4" except on bumper side, 2 plates max , along with (4) 3/4" rods from floor to trunk lid vertically.
**Frames: No welding of frame unless stated in the rules. No pinning or chaining of frame rails. You may put 4 loops of #9 wire from roof to frame behind the front seat. Frames may not be shortened more than 4" from factory. Do not make or move any factory mounts from factory.
**Tailgates: MUST be (6 spots total) chained, wired, or welded vertically 3" x 1/4" plates sheet metal to sheet metal only not to bumper.. Chains or wire may not exceed 36" (Two items per vertical seam). No threaded rods allowed in tailgate. 2 Chains may go around bumper and through tailgate.
**Radiators: Factory stock style in original position containing water only. No auxiliary coolers allowed. Expanded metal radiators protectors are allowed, but do not reinforce the car with radiator with steel enclosure. Guards not to exceed width of radiator.
**Fenders: Fenders may be trimmed. Each fender may have up to 5 bolts per fender no larger than 3/8" in size, with washers also no larger than 1" in diameter. Excess bolt material must be trimmed.
**Interior Mounted Safety Bars: Maximum of a 4 point cage allowed- Consisting of (1) dash bar mounted horizontally above factory steering column location of minimum of 6" from center of firewall- (1) Seat bar must be mounted from door post to door post directly behind driver's seat 3" up or down from center line of seat (may be contoured to mount seat back)- Door bars may by connected to front and rear bar only (1) per side only. No bar may extend back more than 8" past middle doorpost, or forward of dash bar. 2 bars per side may go from door bar to floor sheet metal only within area of door only (not) forward or back of door... Bar may be bolted or welded in. Welds must pass inspection. Plates used to bolt in bar must not exceed 4"x4"x3/8". Bar diameters minimum of 3" maximum of 6" with a minimum of 1/4" thickness. Halo (roll over) bars are legal but can only be mounted to rear seat bar. Halo bars may be bolted to roof only near center of the roof with a maximum of (2) bolts. Only bottom doorpost seam on middle door pillars may be welded. No other interior seams may be welded. Rear window bar allowed, 3" round or square, cannot be connected to halo bar in any way. Plates not to exceed 6"x6". Must split between trunk lid & speaker deck. May be bolted or welded. May not touch trunk floor. You may weld in a bar for shifter but it must remain 6" above the tunnel.
**Bumpers and brackets: Any automotive bumper may be used. Bumpers may be reinforced, but must follow factory dimensions. After market bumpers are legal but must not exceed width of car and cannot have a point greater than 2", or be taller than 6"..If using tube steel maximum dimensions are 6" tall by 6" deep by 3/8" thick. All factory brackets can be welded, no further back than 8" from center of core support mount hole. shock must remain in bracket. You cannot use back brackets on the front. You cannot weld shock to top of frame. You may hard nose by welding bumper directly to the frame with shocks 8" in frame. If using brackets they cannot be welded back further than 8" from center of core support which must remain in stock location as factory. In case bumper comes free you may use 2 places per bumper of 9 gauge 4 loops max to core support, 2 chains 30" in length or 2 plates 2" x 3/8" thick with maximum 3" material welded to support front or top not both. rear bumper to tail light area only.
**Suspension: 21" height maximum to bottom of bumpers from ground. 15" Minimum height of bumper of frame whichever is lowest. You may obtain this by bolting or welding suspension by using (2) 2"x8"x 3/8" strap per side, up to 3/4 rod vertically in center of spring area, or changing springs, straps must be welded straight down to spring bucket, not forward or back on the frame. Upper and lower rear control arms may be reinforced but must start as OEM and remain operational as factory. You may also use 2 chains or cables to hold in rear end in wagons or sedans. No bigger than 3/8" diameter chain, and no more than 1 loop from rear end to frame humps. Do not reinforce frame in gaining height or you will not run! No oversized ball joints, tie rods, or after market spindles, or hubs. Tie rods may be reinforced but must start oem. 9 oem automotive leaf springs maximum, nothing on top of main, 2" stager in front of axle 3" stager back of axle. 4 clamps up to 2" by 1/4" thickness max, using max 7/16" bolts
**Body Bolts: Maximum 1/2" diameter bolts. Except core support than can be 1" in diameter. Body pucks may be removed. Do not extend bolts through bottom of frame, but may go through into body. Your may use up to 4" diameter washers or plates and 1 nut to hold plates inside of car only. Maximum of 3" body pucks height if changed. Must be individual spacers for each mount
**Engines and Transmissions: Any engine in any make of vehicle allowed. In addition to rubber grommet motor frame mounts you may use 2 chains (1 per side) of 2 small plates to secure engine in bay. Do not use chains or plates to reinforce the frame structure. Vertical stacks must be mounted securely and pass inspection. factory Transmission cross members may be bolted or welded in, you may also use steel tubing (2" square max) in place of the factory cross member. Cross member may be welded to frame using a max of 6" angle iron per side., must not be mounted within 6" of crush box. Transmission coolers are permitted, but must pass inspection. Do not mount anything to catch cross member to reinforce the car. No aftermarket trans cases, or over sized truck cases allowed. No bells other than aluminum contoured ultra bell.
**Rear ends: Any OEM automotive or truck rear end of choice up to 8 bolts including free floating rear ends. No dual setups. Hybrid rear ends are also legal using factory components. Rear ends may be braced but cannot reinforce the frame or car in any way. No aftermarket oversized rear ends allowed. Sliders drive shafts legal.
**Steering, brakes, gas pedal, shifter .You may run aftermarket steering with heim joints mounted to dash bar. Brakes and gas pedal may be after market but cannot reinforce car!
**Wheels and tires. No solid steel weld in centers! You may weld in 7" maximum centers to change bolt patterns. 14-16" wheels are legal. Doubled, foam filled tires legal. No homemade wheels, No rim protectors, no bead locks, narrowed factory wheels legal.
****All sedans and non-leaf sprung cars can plate the humps 21x4"x 3/8" thick.
1980 And Newer: You may plate humps. This plate can be up to 3/8"x4"x21"long. Or you may convert to leaf springs using 9 automotive springs per side, with maximum of 4 clamps per side. 48" minimum main spring 2" stagger. Must be automotive type. Must be centered on hump. You may bolt or weld in hangers or put inside frame and bolt. May cold bend. There is no cold bending allowed on 1979 and older cars. 1970-74 caddy transmission cross members cannot make contact with both outside and the inside frame section at anytime. Choose to mount cross member in one place or the other, NOT both. bumper shocks must remain in the brackets.
PROMOD MIDSIZE TEAM:
1. RWD CARS NO MORE THAN 106“ WHEELBASE FWD CARS NO MORE THAN 113“ WHEELBASE NO FULL FRAME CARS. IF CAR IS PAINTED BLACK A 12" X 12" ROOF SIGN IS MANDATORY.
2. HELMET, SEAT BELT, AND EYE PROTECTION MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. ANY CONTROVERSIES OR PROTESTS MUST BE BROUGHT UP DURING THE DRIVERS MEETING.
3. ANY QUESTIONS CALL FIRST IF IT DOESN'T SAY YOU CAN, YOU CANNOT. CARS MUST BE STOCK UNLESS MODIFICATION IS STATED IN THE RULES. NO PAINTING OF THE FRAMES. A 12" X 12" ROOF SIGN IS RECOMMENDED. JUDGES DECISION'S ARE FINAL. ALL CARS ARE SUBJECT TO RE- INSPECTION AT ANY TIME BEFORE, DURING, OR AFTER THE EVENT NO REFUNDS ON ILLEGAL CARS. WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO RE-INSPECT, CUT, OR DRILL ANY CAR AT ANY TIME. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT BREAKING THE RULES SET HERE FORTH YOU WILL FORFIET ANY AND ALL WINNINGS AND OR PRIZES YOU ARE DUE.
4. ALL GLASS, PLASTIC, AND INTERIOR MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE ARRIVING TO THE EVENT. CARS MUST BE STOCK UNLESS MODIFICATIONS STATED IN RULES. WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO RE-INSPECT, DRILL, OR CUT ANY CAR AT ANY TIME. IF YOU STRETCH A RULE YOU WILL LOOSE THAT RULE.
5. ORIGINAL GAS TANK MUST BE REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH A BOAT-TYPE STEEL TANK ( 8 GALLON) MAX . MOVED INSIDE OF CAR BEHIND DRIVERS SEAT EITHER CENTERED OR ON DRIVERS SIDE BUT NO FURTHER BACK THAN REAR AXLE. BATTERIES MUST BE MOVED TO PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR BOARD AND SECURELY FASTENED TO FLOOR,
BODY / CAGE
1. DOORS MAY BE WELDED ALL THE WAY AROUND ON OUTSIDE OF BODY ONLY WITH ¼: X 3” WIDE STRAPPING NO EXCESSIVE OVERLAPPING OF STRAPPING IS PERMITTED.
2. DECK LIDS AND TAILGATES MAY BE WELDED WITH A 5” ON 5” OFF RULE USING ¼” X 3” WIDE PIECES OF STEEL OR 9 WIRED OR CHAINED IN 8 SPOTS. DECK LIDS AND TAILGATES MUST BE IN ORIGINAL LOCATION DECK LIDS MAY BE FOLDED DOWN 50% IN THE TRUNK, TRUNK LIDS MAY BE DIPPED ALONG WITH SPEAKER DECK. SPEAKER DECK CANNOT BE REMOVED, BUT TRUNK LID CAN ONLY BE WELDED TO QUARTER PANELS AND TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY ONLY NOTHING MAY BE WELDED INSIDE OF TRUNK. ONE 8” X 8” INSPECTION HOLES MUST BE PUT IN ALL DECK LIDS IN CENTER OF DECK LID FOR INSPECTION AND FIRE SAFETY. . DECK LIDS MUST BE FACTORY FOR MAKE AND MODEL OF CAR
3. HOOD MAY BE 9 WIRED OR CHAINED IN 8 PLACES OR BOLTED IN 6 PLACES BOLTS MAY BE 5/8” IN DIA. by 12" long max. FRONT 2 BODY MOUNTS MAY EXTEND THROUGH CORE SUPPORT AND USED AS FRONT 2 OF THE 6 HOOD BOLTS 1” ALL THREAD MAX YOU CAN NOT SLEEVE THE ALL THREAD WITH ANYTHING FROM BOTTOM OF CORE SUPPORT AND ABOVE. A 12” HOLE MINIMUM MUST BE IN THE HOOD.
3. NO BODY SEAM WELDING WILL BE PERMITTED. DOORS CAN BE WELDED ON OUTSIDE OF BODY ONLY. ON PRE-RAN CARS THE DOORS MAY BE REPAIRED BACK TO STOCK. RUST REPAIR IS LIMITED TO FLOOR BOARDS AND ROOFS ONLY.
4. YOU MUST HAVE 2 WINDOW BAR OR WIRE IN WINDSHIELD AREA AND OPTIONAL REAR WINDOW BAR, IF USING METAL IT CAN BE NO THICKER THAN 3/8" AND NO WIDER THAN 3" ANGLE OR 3" ROUND PIPE. NOT SOLID. THESE MAY NOT TOUCH THE ROLLOVER BAR. THEY CAN BE WELDED TO ROOF NO MORE THAN 6" FROM THE WINDOW AREA. AND WELDED TO DECK LID NO MORE THAN 6"AT THE REAR WINDOW AREA METAL USED FOR THIS MAY NOT EXCEED 6" IN LENGTH ON ROOF OR DECK LID.
5. YOU MAY USE A FLOATING GAS TANK PROTECTOR THAT COMES OFF THE BACK BAR BUT IT CAN NOT BE WIDER THAN 24" THE GAS TANK PROTECTOR OR HOLDER MAY GO ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE SHEET METAL. IF THE PROTECTOR IS WIDER THAN 24" IT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RUN. GAS TANK PROTECTOR / HOLDER CAN TOUCH REAR SHEET METAL BUT NOT ATTACHED TO IT,
6. CARS MAY NOT BE SMASHED FLAT IF CARS ARE TUCKED THE REAR QUARTER PANELS MUST STAY AT THE FACTORY HEIGHT DECK LIDS MUST BE IN FACTORY LOCATION ( ABOVE RAIN CHANNELS) WITH 12" MAXIMUM DISH
7. YOU MAY HAVE A CAGE SURROUNDING THE DRIVERS COMPARTMENT WITH A ROLL OVER BAR OFF REAR BAR, CAN HAVE 2 BOLTS SECURING HALO TO ROOF.. BARS 6" DIAM. MAX. THE DASH BAR MUST BE 5" FROM FIREWALL THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. REAR SEAT BAR BEHIND THE SEAT MUST BE POSITIONED WITHIN 3" UP OR DOWN FROM CENTER OF SEAT, MAY BE BOLTED OR WELDED TO DOOR POST BUT NOT DOORS ON INSIDE, AND NO FURTHER BACK THAN CENTER OF REAR DOOR, DOOR BARS MUST BE AT LEAST 12" OFF FLOOR GOING NO FURTHER FORWARD OR BACK THAN DASH AND SEAT BARS. NO KICKERS PERMITTED, BUT MAY HAVE 1 BAR PER SIDE FROM DOOR BAR TO FLOOR PER SIDE IN FRONT DOOR AREA ONLY.
8. YOU MAY USE 2 SPOTS 9 WIRE (4LOOPS) FROM ROOF TO LOWER REAR CONTROL ARMS.
FRAME / BUMPERS
1. TRAILER HITCHES AND BRACES MUST BE REMOVED. NO PLATING, PINNING, HEAT TREATING, STUFFING THE FRAME OF ANY KIND. DO NOT PAINT FRAME. NO WELDS ON FRAME MAY EXCEED A SINGLE PASS NO WEAVE PASSES OR BUILDING THE WELD UP WILL BE PERMITIED.
2. NO FRAME CREASING OR HAMMERING PERMITTED. YOU CAN NOTCH OR CREASE REAR FRAME THIS IS TO HELP REAR OF CAR ROLL NOT TO STRENGTHEN THE FRAME. FRAME WELDING IS LIMITED TO FRONT AND REAR BUMPER AREAS. FRONT FRAME MAY BE SHORTENED TO FRONT SIDE OF CORE SUPPORT. CORE SUPPORT MUST REMAIN IN STOCK LOCATION.
3. ANY YEAR BUMPER PERMITTED, OR UP TO 6"X6" BY 3/8" TUBE STEEL NO WIDER THAN CAR, NO MORE THAN 2" POINT.. ALL BUMPER SEAMS MAY BE WELDED, FRONT BUMPERS MAY BE LOADED BUMPER MUST BE A FACTORY CAR BUMPER ALL WORK TO BE DONE ON THE INSIDE OF THE BUMPER ON HOMEMADE BUMPERS...AFTERMARKET BUMPERS ARE PERMITTED. THE BUMPER ON THE REAR OF THE CAR MUST BE FACTORY, or 80 and newer full size. NO ADDING OF METAL TO BUMPER ON REAR OF CAR WILL BE PERMITTED. OPENINGS IN BUMPER MAY BE CLOSED OUT. YOU MAY USE ¼" X 3” X 6” PLATE TO WELD FROM BUMPER TO FRAME 2 SIDES AND ONLY. BUMPER SHOCKS MAY BE ROUND PIPE, 3” X 3” SQUARE TUBING OR FACTORY SHOCK, SHOCKS AND MAY NOT BE FURTHER THAN 10" INSIDE OF FRAME AND BE NO BIGGER THAN 3 INCHES IN DIA. YOU MAY WELD SHOCK TO FRAME FACTORY BUMPER SHOCKS CAN ONLY BE WELDED THE FIRST 10” FROM END OF factory FRAME AND MAY NOT BE MOVED BACK ON FRAME.
4. IF A FRAME SECTION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED OR REPAIRED (RUST) YOU MUST MESSAGE OR CALL FIRST.
6. ANGLES FOR CROSS MEMBER CAN'T BE LONGER THAN 5" AND MUST BE WITHIN 12" FROM FACTORY LOCATION.
7. CARS MUST SET RELATIVELY LEVEL. MAXIMUM BUMPER HEIGHT 21" MINIMUM 15" FROM BOTTOM OF BUMPERS OR REAR FRAME WHICH EVER IS LOWER.
8. FOR COIL SPRUNG CARS YOU MAY USE A HUMP PLATE THEY MAY BE ¼" X 6" X 16" CENTERED IN THE HUMP THEY WILL BE MEASURED FROM THE TOP CENTER OF THE HUMP AND MUST START NO LOWER THAN THE CENTER OF THE FRAME. HUMP PLATE MUST BE AT LEAST 2" FROM REAR END HOUSING. ON LEAF SPRING CARS YOU MAY USE A ¼" X 6" X 10" HUMP PLATE TO BE MEASURED THE SAME WAY. THESE HUMP PLATES MAY CONTOUR THE FRAME OR RUN STRAIGHT ACROSS HUMP. HUMP PLATE MUST REMAIN FLAT PLATE NO BENDING OF THIS OVER THE TOP OR BOTTOM OF FRAME.
9. ALL FACTORY HOLES IN FRAME MUST REMAIN OPEN NO WELDING THESE HOLES SHUT PERMITTED.
10. K MEMBERS CAN NOT BE WELDED TO BODY OF CAR THEY MAY BE BOLTED in 2 ADDITIONAL SPOTS firewall forward. Factory body bolt diameter bolt in size.
ENGINE / TRANSMISSION
1. NO CHAINS ON ENGINE PERMITTED SOLID OR AFTERMARKET MOTOR MOUNTS ARE OK
2. 4 & 6 CYL. ENGINES ONLY. DISTRIBUTOR PROTECTORS ARE ALLOWED, NOTHING THAT ATTACHES TO ENGINE CAN BE WIDER THAN THE STACKS I.E DIST. PROTECTOR, ENGINE CRADLES ECT OR BE USED TO STRENGTHEN CARS.
3. OIL PAN AND TRANSMISSION PAN MAY BE PLATED THE PLATE USED MAY BE ONLY 1” WIDER THAN THE PAN THEY ARE WELDED TO THEY MAY NOT CONNECT IN ANY WAY.
4. NO STEEL BELL HOUSINGS OR TRANSMISSION BRACES ALLOWED
5. CARB CONVERSIONS ARE LEGAL WITH CARB PROTECTOR BUT MUST ONLY SERVE THAT PURPOSE.
SUSPENSION
6. Radi barrels may be used. No wider than factory radiator, no deeper than 4", must have relief valve. 21 lbs max. pressure may use up to 6 bolts to install, may not reinforce anything else.
1. YOU MAY MODIFY TIE RODS. BUT MUST START STOCK, VALVE STEM PROTECTORS ARE PERMITTED. A-ARMS MUST REMAIN IN STOCK CONFIGURATION. ANY TIRE PERMITTED. REAR TRAILING ARMS MAY BE HOME MADE NO BIGGER THAN 2 X 2 SQUARE TUBING OR PIPE.
2.UPPER A ARMS MAY BE WELDED DOWN WITH A ¼" X 2" X 2" PIECE OF STEEL ON FRONT AND BACK SIDE OF UPPER A ARM AND YOU MAY PLUG WELD THE CENTER OF THE A ARM. LOWER A-ARMS MAY NOT BE WELDED. CARS DO NOT HAVE TO BOUNCE. SOLID SUSPENSION AND REINFORCED STRUTS PERMITTED WITH NO THICKER THAN 1/4 WALLED PIPE ALLOWED. COIL SPRINGS IN REAR MAY BE WELDED WIRED OR CHAINED TO REAR END. Lower control arms can have a 6"x2" piece of angle for reinforcement.
3. LEAF SPRING CARS MAY REPLACE BROKEN SPRINGS WITH FACTORY ¼ " LEAF SPRINGS ONLY. NO MORE THAN 5 SPRINGS ALLOWED AND MUST HAVE A 2" STAGGER AND MOUNTED IN FACTORY LOCATION YOU CAN NOT CHANGE COIL SPRING TO LEAF SPRING SET UPS.
4. IDLER ARM MUST BE BOLTED FACTORY TO FRAME NO BOLTS WILL BE PERMITTED ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE FRAME. SWAY BAR MAY BE WELDED TO BOTTOM OF FRAME IN THE FACTORY LOCATION YOU MAY USE A 1 ½ " X 4” BRACKET OR A 2" SQUARE TUBING OR PIPE TO WELD TO SWAY BAR TO ATTACH TO FRAME
WHEELS MUST BE STOCK STEEL OR ALUMINUM , solid and HOMEMADE WHEELS are permitted, as well as bead protectors.
MULTI MINI TRUCK CLASS AND MINI VANS:
* Engine:
4 or 6cyl. V8's allowed, and engine must be left stock. Can use headers up thru hood.
*4wd’s must remove front driveshaft.
* Doors:
Drivers door can be welded solid. All Other doors can have 2 chain or wire per door seam.
* Safety:
You can have a basic 4 point cage (seat bar, dash bar, and door bars) for drivers safety. A seat bar is mandatory. tubing can be up to 3” by 3” in diameter. You can have a gas tank protector ,no wider than 24'' wide and 6" off floor but must be attached to rear seat bar only.
* Tailgate and hatches:
Tailgate must remain vertical and in factory position or taken off. 2 chains or 2 wires, or 2 6"x3"x 1/4" plates to secure lid or tailgate.
* Truck box: Sides of factory truck box must remain vertical, NO wedged boxes
allowed for safety reasons. Front of box may be chained, or welded (12") total to back of cab for safety.
* Tires
Doubled, skid steer, forklift or tractor tread tires are allowed. 31” max
height. You may use tubes in your tires, double tires ok. Remove all wheel weights before
inspection. Rims must be stock. No one piece home made rims allowed.
* Hoods:
Can have 4 chains or 4 threaded rods max. Only 2 threaded rods can go to frame in core support area. Threaded rod can be up to 1'' in diameter. Hood
plates for threaded rod can be 6”x6” max. you must have a 12" hole cut in hood incase of fire.
* Front Bumpers:
You may replace with 80 and newer steel, any year steel rear automotive or 6" tall by 2" deep by 1/4" flat steel bumper welded or bolted on.
* Rear bumper:
Must remain OEM or be taken off. No trailer hitches or brackets allowed. They must be completely removed before inspection.
* Frames:
No welding allowed anywhere on frame.
* Battery:
The battery must be relocated inside passenger side floorboard area of
Vehicle and securely mounted.
* Gas tank:
The gas tank must be in the front part of the box. Mini vans and small SUV's must have gas tank behind the driver’s seat. Gas tank and fuel lines must be securely mounted.
- These rules are meant to keep this class cheap and fun to compete in for Everybody.
Power Wheels:
SAFETY IS FIRST FOR THE POWER WHEELS CLASS FOR ALL CHILDREN!
1. This is supposed to be FUN for the kids! Parents PLEASE don’t ruin it for them!1
2. Power Wheels Derby is for kids 2-10 years old. All kids MUST be accompanied by an adult and have a Minor Release form on file.
3. Derby is limited to 12-volt Power Wheels only! All power wheels must remain as they came from the store. Nothing may be added or reinforced for strength. Paint them up and let the kids have a blast!
4. Stock tires only.
5. All power wheels must set like the store bought ones no raising or lowering the front or rear of the power wheels.
6. Stock battery can be replaced with a 12-volt mower battery only. It can be positioned anywhere inside the car and covered, not in the passenger seat.
7. Rollover bars will be allowed as long as we feel they are safe and don't reinforce the cars…so bring your saws.
8. Helmets are mandatory.
9. Seatbelts are recommended.
10. Doors and hoods must be secured with a bungee cord, rope, or similar.
SEMI STOCK --PICKUP, SUBURBAN, SUV CLASS is open to 1/2, and 3/4 except Super Dutys, GM HD models and 1972 and older models. NO 1 TONs
* NO welding on frame allowed. If vehicle is a 4wd you must remove front driveshaft to make it 2wd only. No converting 2 wheel drives to 4 wheel drive suspensions.
* All windows, interior, chrome trim, plastic, lights must be removed before event.
*Engine and transmission:
You may use aftermarket headers. NO distributor protectors allowed. You may have a basic engine cradle for mounting engine in with pulley protector, or 2 chains bolted or welded to factory engine cradle. No diesel engines allowed .No radi barrels allowed. You may use expanded metal or a old ac condenser in front of radiator, no wider than radiator. Can be bolted or welded into place. No trans braces allowed. You may use a aftermarket floor shifter. You may use a trans cooler. you may use a slider driveshaft.
* Doors:
Drivers and passenger door may be welded solid, other doors only 2 chains, or 2 spots 6"x 3" 1/4" plates max per seam.
* Tires and Rims:
33” max tire height limit. Rims must be factory stock rim. NO home made 1 piece rims allowed. No split rims allowed. All wheel weights must be removed.
Tires may be Doubled and tubed. No very large lugged tires,
* Suspension:
Must be stock, no aftermarket lift kits allowed. Leaf springs must
be stock stagger. NO homemade leaf springs or brackets allowed. Rear 20” minimum or front 23” max height measured from ground to bottom of the bumper.
* Truck boxes:
Must be OEM, NO homemade boxes or flatbeds allowed.
NO wedged boxes or sedagons. Tailgate may be welded or chained in factory upright location.1- 3"x12" long plate per side or 2 chains per vertical seam only.
You may add 4 - ¾” additional bolts in the box to the frame for safety. The 4
Additional bolts in bed must be bolted or welded vertically to the frame. You
also may secure front of box to the cab by using 2 chain on each side or 1 – 3” by 8” plate per side. This rule is for driver’s safety since a steel boat tank or fuel cell will be mounted in the front middle of the factory truck box. Fuel line must be ran safely thru piece of round or square steel tubing where it goes between front of box and rear of cab for drivers safety. Gas tank protector is ok but must be attached for that purpose only.
* Body bolts:
All body bolts can be changed up to 3/4" max with a 4"x4" plate. Core support bolts can be 3/4" and go thru hood with a 6"x6" plate on top of hood.
* Hood:
Can have 6 tie downs total.(6 chains, OR 2 1” plus 4- ¾” max rods (12” long), ONLY 2 1” rods can be attached to the frame in core support area and through hood, other 4 sheet metal to sheet metal. 6” plates for bolts or all thread max.)...If not using headers thru hood you must have a 12" hole cut in hood incase of fire.
*Front Bumpers:
May be stock factory pickup truck front bumper. Any automobile except New Yorker pointy type or tube steel bumpers allowed 6" tall by 2" deep by 3/8".Must be stock pickup, or automotive front brackets, L shaped homemade bracket no bigger than 6” on bumper 8” on frame, no further than 6” back from core support.
* Rear bumpers and Brackets may be changed to automotive rear bumpers, 2x6 by 3/8 rectangular tube, or you may drop your tailgate down 6” and use that in place of the bumper but not both.
* SAFETY:
Gas Tank must be mounted securely in the front center part of box.
Battery must be securely mounted in passenger area of cab.
You may install a basic 4
point cage (dash, seat and door bars). down bars allowed for driver safety only sheet metal to door bar vertically only. You may use 2 chains or pieces of 3’’ strap steel in windshield area for drivers protection. Rollover bar ok but must come off rear seat bar.

You will have only 2 attempts to pass inspection before you are loaded!
Only drivers in the feature of top 5 cars will be allowed on the track after the feature for re-inspection.
If you stretch any rule such as hump plates you will completely remove item, double check the tape measure.
Open class full size with feature payout $3000, 2500, 2000, 1500, 1000 with $500 heat wins and a heat and feature predator $500, $100 preregistration by August 1st, 40 spots maximum or $200 day of show, 300 after noon day of show!

Any year vehicle 1960-2013. NOT ALLOWED TO RUN: 1974 and older Chrysler Imperials, 2003 and newer Ford's, Mercury's or Lincoln's including suicide Lincoln's
**NO distributor protectors ** NO steel, or aluminum transmission bell housings allowed, unless approved contoured jw ultra bell for fixing broken trans. Basic motor mounted cradle with pulley protector are allowed, Must use factory or after market rubber grommet style frame mount. sway bar cannot be in contact with pulley protector at any time.** Only contoured transmission protectors allowed but must not be used for any other purpose or you will not run, protector cannot be more than 2" wider than the factory housing..Transmission must be free floating if running protector with 2" gap from contacting anything at firewall and cross member . Do not alter the firewall or floor to add strength. **No mid plates allowed unless used solely to change trans bolt pattern, and do not exceed 2" wider or taller than transmission.
** Top seam may be welded firewall forward on pre 1980 cars, weld not to exceed 1/2" wide. **Tilting front by cutting, moving & re-welding is legal (1/4") bead on 1980 and newer cars or 80s and newer vehicles may cold bend at cross member, no added steel other than 6" angle for mounting cross member.
**Safety: Functioning seatbelts, Helmets, Eye Protection, Long pants, sturdy shoes or boots are mandatory. Racing Suit recommended.** All air bags and charges must be completely removed before arriving to track for competition.
**Preparation: All glass, headlights, tail lights, chrome, fiberglass header panels, carpeting, antennas, hubcaps, wheel weights, and garbage must be removed before coming to the track for competition. Trailer Hitches must be completely removed.
**Gas Tanks: Factory gas tank MUST be removed, In place you must use a 10 gallon max steel tank to be mounted on floor directly behind driver, or off rear bar. Must have clamped fittings to tank. Only approved fuel lines may be used. Pump gas only. Tanks must be bolted, chained, or 2 ratchet straps to floor and be very secure to pass inspection. NO FACTORY GAS TANKS ALLOWED... (Fuel Tank Protectors will be allowed off rear seat bars, Nothing to frame, 30" wide maximum, 6" above floor minimum, Fuel tank Protectors are for that purpose only - All sedans may be tight but not welded or secured )No taller than 6" above tank, mounted straight up, not at angle. No altering sheet metal!
**Batteries: Only 1 or 2 automotive type batteries or 1 larger style battery of choice is permitted. Batteries must be mounted to floor on front passenger side of vehicle, 6 bolts max, none to frame. Must be covered and secured firmly to pass inspection.
**Windshields: Must be removed before arrival for competition. In place: 2 chains, or straps mounted from firewall to roof vertically for driver safety. Must use bolts or welding to secure.
**Hoods: (6 spots max) Must have a minimum of 12" hole in hood in case of fire. To hold hood down you are required a Minimum of 2 (36" maximum) chains, wires, or threaded rods (maximum 1" diameter). Threaded rod must run through frame at core support bolt spot. Maximum of 6 chains, wires, or threaded rods may be used. Only 2 threaded rods can go to frame, vertically only, other 4 rods bolted sheet metal to sheet metal. Rods cannot extend out of hood more than 6". Hood plates used with rods should not exceed 6"x6"x3/8" in size. You may use up to (10) 3/8" max. bolts per hood to secure hood webbing when cutting out hood. If hood does not cover fan, fan must be removed. Core support spacers must not exceed 6" in height. May be welded to frame not body.
**Doors: May be welded outside skin completely vertically 3" wide by 1/4" thick strap with minimum overlap, you may use 5 on 5 off horizontally. or chained. 8 spots of chain or wire per door , Chains cannot exceed 36" Top door skins may be bent over and 3 2" welds to secure with no added steel.
**Trunks: 5 on 5 off... maximum 1/4" x 4" plates, the following items may be used to secure trunk lid: wire, cable, chain, threaded rod or welded plate. ONLY (2) rods maximum 1" diameter may connect to frame. Rods may go through mount or be welded vertically to frame between the mounts with no more than 6" of weld. Top trunk lid plates for rods cannot exceed 6"x6"x3/8" in size. Do not exceed 4" round or square for plates inside trunk to secure if bolting in rods. There must be a way for us to see inside trunk for inspections. Trunks cannot create a ramp effect. 12" maximum dish from factory position , do not remove speaker deck. Trunks may not be moved forward or flipped and may only be tucked maximum of 50%. Mopars may weld all trunk seams 3"x 1/4" except on bumper side, 2 plates max , along with (4) 3/4" rods from floor to trunk lid vertically.
**Frames: No welding of frame unless stated in the rules. No pinning or chaining of frame rails. You may put 4 loops of #9 wire from roof to frame behind the front seat. Frames may not be shortened more than 4" from factory. Do not make or move any factory mounts from factory.
**Tailgates: MUST be (6 spots total) chained, wired, or welded vertically 3" x 1/4" plates sheet metal to sheet metal only not to bumper.. Chains or wire may not exceed 36" (Two items per vertical seam). No threaded rods allowed in tailgate. 2 Chains may go around bumper and through tailgate.
**Radiators: Factory stock style in original position containing water only. No auxiliary coolers allowed. Expanded metal radiators protectors are allowed, but do not reinforce the car with radiator with steel enclosure. Guards not to exceed width of radiator.
**Fenders: Fenders may be trimmed. Each fender may have up to 5 bolts per fender no larger than 3/8" in size, with washers also no larger than 1" in diameter. Excess bolt material must be trimmed.
**Interior Mounted Safety Bars: Maximum of a 4 point cage allowed- Consisting of (1) dash bar mounted horizontally above factory steering column location of minimum of 6" from center of firewall- (1) Seat bar must be mounted from door post to door post directly behind driver's seat 3" up or down from center line of seat (may be contoured to mount seat back)- Door bars may by connected to front and rear bar only (1) per side only. No bar may extend back more than 8" past middle doorpost, or forward of dash bar. 2 bars per side may go from door bar to floor sheet metal only within area of door only (not) forward or back of door... Bar may be bolted or welded in. Welds must pass inspection. Plates used to bolt in bar must not exceed 4"x4"x3/8". Bar diameters minimum of 3" maximum of 6" with a minimum of 1/4" thickness. Halo (roll over) bars are legal but can only be mounted to rear seat bar. Halo bars may be bolted to roof only near center of the roof with a maximum of (2) bolts. Only bottom doorpost seam on middle door pillars may be welded. No other interior seams may be welded. Rear window bar allowed, 3" round or square, cannot be connected to halo bar in any way. Plates not to exceed 6"x6". Must split between trunk lid & speaker deck. May be bolted or welded. May not touch trunk floor. You may weld in a bar for shifter but it must remain 6" above the tunnel.
**Bumpers and brackets: Any automotive bumper may be used. Bumpers may be reinforced, but must follow factory dimensions. After market bumpers are legal but must not exceed width of car and cannot have a point greater than 2", or be taller than 6"..If using tube steel maximum dimensions are 6" tall by 6" deep by 3/8" thick. All factory brackets can be welded, no further back than 8" from center of core support mount hole. shock must remain in bracket. You cannot use back brackets on the front. You cannot weld shock to top of frame. You may hard nose by welding bumper directly to the frame with shocks 8" in frame. If using brackets they cannot be welded back further than 8" from center of core support which must remain in stock location as factory. In case bumper comes free you may use 2 places per bumper of 9 gauge 4 loops max to core support, 2 chains 30" in length or 2 plates 2" x 3/8" thick with maximum 3" material welded to support front or top not both. rear bumper to tail light area only.
**Suspension: 21" height maximum to bottom of bumpers from ground. 15" Minimum height of bumper of frame whichever is lowest. You may obtain this by bolting or welding suspension by using (2) 2"x8"x 3/8" strap per side, up to 3/4 rod vertically in center of spring area, or changing springs, straps must be welded straight down to spring bucket, not forward or back on the frame. Upper and lower rear control arms may be reinforced but must start as OEM and remain operational as factory. You may also use 2 chains or cables to hold in rear end in wagons or sedans. No bigger than 3/8" diameter chain, and no more than 1 loop from rear end to frame humps. Do not reinforce frame in gaining height or you will not run! No oversized ball joints, tie rods, or after market spindles, or hubs. Tie rods may be reinforced but must start oem. 9 oem automotive leaf springs maximum, nothing on top of main, 2" stager in front of axle 3" stager back of axle. 4 clamps up to 2" by 1/4" thickness max, using max 7/16" bolts
**Body Bolts: Maximum 1/2" diameter bolts. Except core support than can be 1" in diameter. Body pucks may be removed. Do not extend bolts through bottom of frame, but may go through into body. Your may use up to 4" diameter washers or plates and 1 nut to hold plates inside of car only. Maximum of 3" body pucks height if changed. Must be individual spacers for each mount
**Engines and Transmissions: Any engine in any make of vehicle allowed. In addition to rubber grommet motor frame mounts you may use 2 chains (1 per side) of 2 small plates to secure engine in bay. Do not use chains or plates to reinforce the frame structure. Vertical stacks must be mounted securely and pass inspection. factory Transmission cross members may be bolted or welded in, you may also use steel tubing (2" square max) in place of the factory cross member. Cross member may be welded to frame using a max of 6" angle iron per side., must not be mounted within 6" of crush box. Transmission coolers are permitted, but must pass inspection. Do not mount anything to catch cross member to reinforce the car. No aftermarket trans cases, or over sized truck cases allowed. No bells other than aluminum contoured ultra bell.
**Rear ends: Any OEM automotive or truck rear end of choice up to 8 bolts including free floating rear ends. No dual setups. Hybrid rear ends are also legal using factory components. Rear ends may be braced but cannot reinforce the frame or car in any way. No aftermarket oversized rear ends allowed. Sliders drive shafts legal.
**Steering, brakes, gas pedal, shifter .You may run aftermarket steering with heim joints mounted to dash bar. Brakes and gas pedal may be after market but cannot reinforce car!
**Wheels and tires. No solid steel weld in centers! You may weld in 7" maximum centers to change bolt patterns. 14-16" wheels are legal. Doubled, foam filled tires legal. No homemade wheels, No rim protectors, no bead locks, narrowed factory wheels legal.
****All sedans and non-leaf sprung cars can plate the humps 21x4"x 3/8" thick.
1980 And Newer: You may plate humps. This plate can be up to 3/8"x4"x21"long. Or you may convert to leaf springs using 9 automotive springs per side, with maximum of 4 clamps per side. 48" minimum main spring 2" stagger. Must be automotive type. Must be centered on hump. You may bolt or weld in hangers or put inside frame and bolt. May cold bend. There is no cold bending allowed on 1979 and older cars. 1970-74 caddy transmission cross members cannot make contact with both outside and the inside frame section at anytime. Choose to mount cross member in one place or the other, NOT both. bumper shocks must remain in the brackets.
PROMOD MIDSIZE TEAM:
1. RWD CARS NO MORE THAN 106“ WHEELBASE FWD CARS NO MORE THAN 113“ WHEELBASE NO FULL FRAME CARS. IF CAR IS PAINTED BLACK A 12" X 12" ROOF SIGN IS MANDATORY.
2. HELMET, SEAT BELT, AND EYE PROTECTION MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. ANY CONTROVERSIES OR PROTESTS MUST BE BROUGHT UP DURING THE DRIVERS MEETING.
3. ANY QUESTIONS CALL FIRST IF IT DOESN'T SAY YOU CAN, YOU CANNOT. CARS MUST BE STOCK UNLESS MODIFICATION IS STATED IN THE RULES. NO PAINTING OF THE FRAMES. A 12" X 12" ROOF SIGN IS RECOMMENDED. JUDGES DECISION'S ARE FINAL. ALL CARS ARE SUBJECT TO RE- INSPECTION AT ANY TIME BEFORE, DURING, OR AFTER THE EVENT NO REFUNDS ON ILLEGAL CARS. WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO RE-INSPECT, CUT, OR DRILL ANY CAR AT ANY TIME. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT BREAKING THE RULES SET HERE FORTH YOU WILL FORFIET ANY AND ALL WINNINGS AND OR PRIZES YOU ARE DUE.
4. ALL GLASS, PLASTIC, AND INTERIOR MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE ARRIVING TO THE EVENT. CARS MUST BE STOCK UNLESS MODIFICATIONS STATED IN RULES. WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO RE-INSPECT, DRILL, OR CUT ANY CAR AT ANY TIME. IF YOU STRETCH A RULE YOU WILL LOOSE THAT RULE.
5. ORIGINAL GAS TANK MUST BE REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH A BOAT-TYPE STEEL TANK ( 8 GALLON) MAX . MOVED INSIDE OF CAR BEHIND DRIVERS SEAT EITHER CENTERED OR ON DRIVERS SIDE BUT NO FURTHER BACK THAN REAR AXLE. BATTERIES MUST BE MOVED TO PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR BOARD AND SECURELY FASTENED TO FLOOR,
BODY / CAGE
1. DOORS MAY BE WELDED ALL THE WAY AROUND ON OUTSIDE OF BODY ONLY WITH ¼: X 3” WIDE STRAPPING NO EXCESSIVE OVERLAPPING OF STRAPPING IS PERMITTED.
2. DECK LIDS AND TAILGATES MAY BE WELDED WITH A 5” ON 5” OFF RULE USING ¼” X 3” WIDE PIECES OF STEEL OR 9 WIRED OR CHAINED IN 8 SPOTS. DECK LIDS AND TAILGATES MUST BE IN ORIGINAL LOCATION DECK LIDS MAY BE FOLDED DOWN 50% IN THE TRUNK, TRUNK LIDS MAY BE DIPPED ALONG WITH SPEAKER DECK. SPEAKER DECK CANNOT BE REMOVED, BUT TRUNK LID CAN ONLY BE WELDED TO QUARTER PANELS AND TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY ONLY NOTHING MAY BE WELDED INSIDE OF TRUNK. ONE 8” X 8” INSPECTION HOLES MUST BE PUT IN ALL DECK LIDS IN CENTER OF DECK LID FOR INSPECTION AND FIRE SAFETY. . DECK LIDS MUST BE FACTORY FOR MAKE AND MODEL OF CAR
3. HOOD MAY BE 9 WIRED OR CHAINED IN 8 PLACES OR BOLTED IN 6 PLACES BOLTS MAY BE 5/8” IN DIA. by 12" long max. FRONT 2 BODY MOUNTS MAY EXTEND THROUGH CORE SUPPORT AND USED AS FRONT 2 OF THE 6 HOOD BOLTS 1” ALL THREAD MAX YOU CAN NOT SLEEVE THE ALL THREAD WITH ANYTHING FROM BOTTOM OF CORE SUPPORT AND ABOVE. A 12” HOLE MINIMUM MUST BE IN THE HOOD.

4. YOU MUST HAVE 2 WINDOW BAR OR WIRE IN WINDSHIELD AREA AND OPTIONAL REAR WINDOW BAR, IF USING METAL IT CAN BE NO THICKER THAN 3/8" AND NO WIDER THAN 3" ANGLE OR 3" ROUND PIPE. NOT SOLID. THESE MAY NOT TOUCH THE ROLLOVER BAR. THEY CAN BE WELDED TO ROOF NO MORE THAN 6" FROM THE WINDOW AREA. AND WELDED TO DECK LID NO MORE THAN 6"AT THE REAR WINDOW AREA METAL USED FOR THIS MAY NOT EXCEED 6" IN LENGTH ON ROOF OR DECK LID.
5. YOU MAY USE A FLOATING GAS TANK PROTECTOR THAT COMES OFF THE BACK BAR BUT IT CAN NOT BE WIDER THAN 24" THE GAS TANK PROTECTOR OR HOLDER MAY GO ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE SHEET METAL. IF THE PROTECTOR IS WIDER THAN 24" IT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RUN. GAS TANK PROTECTOR / HOLDER CAN TOUCH REAR SHEET METAL BUT NOT ATTACHED TO IT,
6. CARS MAY NOT BE SMASHED FLAT IF CARS ARE TUCKED THE REAR QUARTER PANELS MUST STAY AT THE FACTORY HEIGHT DECK LIDS MUST BE IN FACTORY LOCATION ( ABOVE RAIN CHANNELS) WITH 12" MAXIMUM DISH
7. YOU MAY HAVE A CAGE SURROUNDING THE DRIVERS COMPARTMENT WITH A ROLL OVER BAR OFF REAR BAR, CAN HAVE 2 BOLTS SECURING HALO TO ROOF.. BARS 6" DIAM. MAX. THE DASH BAR MUST BE 5" FROM FIREWALL THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. REAR SEAT BAR BEHIND THE SEAT MUST BE POSITIONED WITHIN 3" UP OR DOWN FROM CENTER OF SEAT, MAY BE BOLTED OR WELDED TO DOOR POST BUT NOT DOORS ON INSIDE, AND NO FURTHER BACK THAN CENTER OF REAR DOOR, DOOR BARS MUST BE AT LEAST 12" OFF FLOOR GOING NO FURTHER FORWARD OR BACK THAN DASH AND SEAT BARS. NO KICKERS PERMITTED, BUT MAY HAVE 1 BAR PER SIDE FROM DOOR BAR TO FLOOR PER SIDE IN FRONT DOOR AREA ONLY.
8. YOU MAY USE 2 SPOTS 9 WIRE (4LOOPS) FROM ROOF TO LOWER REAR CONTROL ARMS.
FRAME / BUMPERS
1. TRAILER HITCHES AND BRACES MUST BE REMOVED. NO PLATING, PINNING, HEAT TREATING, STUFFING THE FRAME OF ANY KIND. DO NOT PAINT FRAME. NO WELDS ON FRAME MAY EXCEED A SINGLE PASS NO WEAVE PASSES OR BUILDING THE WELD UP WILL BE PERMITIED.
2. NO FRAME CREASING OR HAMMERING PERMITTED. YOU CAN NOTCH OR CREASE REAR FRAME THIS IS TO HELP REAR OF CAR ROLL NOT TO STRENGTHEN THE FRAME. FRAME WELDING IS LIMITED TO FRONT AND REAR BUMPER AREAS. FRONT FRAME MAY BE SHORTENED TO FRONT SIDE OF CORE SUPPORT. CORE SUPPORT MUST REMAIN IN STOCK LOCATION.
3. ANY YEAR BUMPER PERMITTED, OR UP TO 6"X6" BY 3/8" TUBE STEEL NO WIDER THAN CAR, NO MORE THAN 2" POINT.. ALL BUMPER SEAMS MAY BE WELDED, FRONT BUMPERS MAY BE LOADED BUMPER MUST BE A FACTORY CAR BUMPER ALL WORK TO BE DONE ON THE INSIDE OF THE BUMPER ON HOMEMADE BUMPERS...AFTERMARKET BUMPERS ARE PERMITTED. THE BUMPER ON THE REAR OF THE CAR MUST BE FACTORY, or 80 and newer full size. NO ADDING OF METAL TO BUMPER ON REAR OF CAR WILL BE PERMITTED. OPENINGS IN BUMPER MAY BE CLOSED OUT. YOU MAY USE ¼" X 3” X 6” PLATE TO WELD FROM BUMPER TO FRAME 2 SIDES AND ONLY. BUMPER SHOCKS MAY BE ROUND PIPE, 3” X 3” SQUARE TUBING OR FACTORY SHOCK, SHOCKS AND MAY NOT BE FURTHER THAN 10" INSIDE OF FRAME AND BE NO BIGGER THAN 3 INCHES IN DIA. YOU MAY WELD SHOCK TO FRAME FACTORY BUMPER SHOCKS CAN ONLY BE WELDED THE FIRST 10” FROM END OF factory FRAME AND MAY NOT BE MOVED BACK ON FRAME.
4. IF A FRAME SECTION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED OR REPAIRED (RUST) YOU MUST MESSAGE OR CALL FIRST.
6. ANGLES FOR CROSS MEMBER CAN'T BE LONGER THAN 5" AND MUST BE WITHIN 12" FROM FACTORY LOCATION.
7. CARS MUST SET RELATIVELY LEVEL. MAXIMUM BUMPER HEIGHT 21" MINIMUM 15" FROM BOTTOM OF BUMPERS OR REAR FRAME WHICH EVER IS LOWER.
8. FOR COIL SPRUNG CARS YOU MAY USE A HUMP PLATE THEY MAY BE ¼" X 6" X 16" CENTERED IN THE HUMP THEY WILL BE MEASURED FROM THE TOP CENTER OF THE HUMP AND MUST START NO LOWER THAN THE CENTER OF THE FRAME. HUMP PLATE MUST BE AT LEAST 2" FROM REAR END HOUSING. ON LEAF SPRING CARS YOU MAY USE A ¼" X 6" X 10" HUMP PLATE TO BE MEASURED THE SAME WAY. THESE HUMP PLATES MAY CONTOUR THE FRAME OR RUN STRAIGHT ACROSS HUMP. HUMP PLATE MUST REMAIN FLAT PLATE NO BENDING OF THIS OVER THE TOP OR BOTTOM OF FRAME.
9. ALL FACTORY HOLES IN FRAME MUST REMAIN OPEN NO WELDING THESE HOLES SHUT PERMITTED.
10. K MEMBERS CAN NOT BE WELDED TO BODY OF CAR THEY MAY BE BOLTED in 2 ADDITIONAL SPOTS firewall forward. Factory body bolt diameter bolt in size.
ENGINE / TRANSMISSION
1. NO CHAINS ON ENGINE PERMITTED SOLID OR AFTERMARKET MOTOR MOUNTS ARE OK
2. 4 & 6 CYL. ENGINES ONLY. DISTRIBUTOR PROTECTORS ARE ALLOWED, NOTHING THAT ATTACHES TO ENGINE CAN BE WIDER THAN THE STACKS I.E DIST. PROTECTOR, ENGINE CRADLES ECT OR BE USED TO STRENGTHEN CARS.
3. OIL PAN AND TRANSMISSION PAN MAY BE PLATED THE PLATE USED MAY BE ONLY 1” WIDER THAN THE PAN THEY ARE WELDED TO THEY MAY NOT CONNECT IN ANY WAY.
4. NO STEEL BELL HOUSINGS OR TRANSMISSION BRACES ALLOWED
5. CARB CONVERSIONS ARE LEGAL WITH CARB PROTECTOR BUT MUST ONLY SERVE THAT PURPOSE.
SUSPENSION
6. Radi barrels may be used. No wider than factory radiator, no deeper than 4", must have relief valve. 21 lbs max. pressure may use up to 6 bolts to install, may not reinforce anything else.
1. YOU MAY MODIFY TIE RODS. BUT MUST START STOCK, VALVE STEM PROTECTORS ARE PERMITTED. A-ARMS MUST REMAIN IN STOCK CONFIGURATION. ANY TIRE PERMITTED. REAR TRAILING ARMS MAY BE HOME MADE NO BIGGER THAN 2 X 2 SQUARE TUBING OR PIPE.
2.UPPER A ARMS MAY BE WELDED DOWN WITH A ¼" X 2" X 2" PIECE OF STEEL ON FRONT AND BACK SIDE OF UPPER A ARM AND YOU MAY PLUG WELD THE CENTER OF THE A ARM. LOWER A-ARMS MAY NOT BE WELDED. CARS DO NOT HAVE TO BOUNCE. SOLID SUSPENSION AND REINFORCED STRUTS PERMITTED WITH NO THICKER THAN 1/4 WALLED PIPE ALLOWED. COIL SPRINGS IN REAR MAY BE WELDED WIRED OR CHAINED TO REAR END. Lower control arms can have a 6"x2" piece of angle for reinforcement.
3. LEAF SPRING CARS MAY REPLACE BROKEN SPRINGS WITH FACTORY ¼ " LEAF SPRINGS ONLY. NO MORE THAN 5 SPRINGS ALLOWED AND MUST HAVE A 2" STAGGER AND MOUNTED IN FACTORY LOCATION YOU CAN NOT CHANGE COIL SPRING TO LEAF SPRING SET UPS.
4. IDLER ARM MUST BE BOLTED FACTORY TO FRAME NO BOLTS WILL BE PERMITTED ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE FRAME. SWAY BAR MAY BE WELDED TO BOTTOM OF FRAME IN THE FACTORY LOCATION YOU MAY USE A 1 ½ " X 4” BRACKET OR A 2" SQUARE TUBING OR PIPE TO WELD TO SWAY BAR TO ATTACH TO FRAME
WHEELS MUST BE STOCK STEEL OR ALUMINUM , solid and HOMEMADE WHEELS are permitted, as well as bead protectors.
MULTI MINI TRUCK CLASS AND MINI VANS:
* Engine:
4 or 6cyl. V8's allowed, and engine must be left stock. Can use headers up thru hood.
*4wd’s must remove front driveshaft.
* Doors:
Drivers door can be welded solid. All Other doors can have 2 chain or wire per door seam.
* Safety:
You can have a basic 4 point cage (seat bar, dash bar, and door bars) for drivers safety. A seat bar is mandatory. tubing can be up to 3” by 3” in diameter. You can have a gas tank protector ,no wider than 24'' wide and 6" off floor but must be attached to rear seat bar only.
* Tailgate and hatches:
Tailgate must remain vertical and in factory position or taken off. 2 chains or 2 wires, or 2 6"x3"x 1/4" plates to secure lid or tailgate.
* Truck box: Sides of factory truck box must remain vertical, NO wedged boxes
allowed for safety reasons. Front of box may be chained, or welded (12") total to back of cab for safety.
* Tires
Doubled, skid steer, forklift or tractor tread tires are allowed. 31” max
height. You may use tubes in your tires, double tires ok. Remove all wheel weights before
inspection. Rims must be stock. No one piece home made rims allowed.
* Hoods:
Can have 4 chains or 4 threaded rods max. Only 2 threaded rods can go to frame in core support area. Threaded rod can be up to 1'' in diameter. Hood
plates for threaded rod can be 6”x6” max. you must have a 12" hole cut in hood incase of fire.
* Front Bumpers:
You may replace with 80 and newer steel, any year steel rear automotive or 6" tall by 2" deep by 1/4" flat steel bumper welded or bolted on.
* Rear bumper:
Must remain OEM or be taken off. No trailer hitches or brackets allowed. They must be completely removed before inspection.
* Frames:
No welding allowed anywhere on frame.
* Battery:
The battery must be relocated inside passenger side floorboard area of
Vehicle and securely mounted.
* Gas tank:
The gas tank must be in the front part of the box. Mini vans and small SUV's must have gas tank behind the driver’s seat. Gas tank and fuel lines must be securely mounted.
- These rules are meant to keep this class cheap and fun to compete in for Everybody.
Power Wheels:
SAFETY IS FIRST FOR THE POWER WHEELS CLASS FOR ALL CHILDREN!
1. This is supposed to be FUN for the kids! Parents PLEASE don’t ruin it for them!1
2. Power Wheels Derby is for kids 2-10 years old. All kids MUST be accompanied by an adult and have a Minor Release form on file.
3. Derby is limited to 12-volt Power Wheels only! All power wheels must remain as they came from the store. Nothing may be added or reinforced for strength. Paint them up and let the kids have a blast!
4. Stock tires only.
5. All power wheels must set like the store bought ones no raising or lowering the front or rear of the power wheels.
6. Stock battery can be replaced with a 12-volt mower battery only. It can be positioned anywhere inside the car and covered, not in the passenger seat.
7. Rollover bars will be allowed as long as we feel they are safe and don't reinforce the cars…so bring your saws.
8. Helmets are mandatory.
9. Seatbelts are recommended.
10. Doors and hoods must be secured with a bungee cord, rope, or similar.
SEMI STOCK --PICKUP, SUBURBAN, SUV CLASS is open to 1/2, and 3/4 except Super Dutys, GM HD models and 1972 and older models. NO 1 TONs
* NO welding on frame allowed. If vehicle is a 4wd you must remove front driveshaft to make it 2wd only. No converting 2 wheel drives to 4 wheel drive suspensions.
* All windows, interior, chrome trim, plastic, lights must be removed before event.
*Engine and transmission:
You may use aftermarket headers. NO distributor protectors allowed. You may have a basic engine cradle for mounting engine in with pulley protector, or 2 chains bolted or welded to factory engine cradle. No diesel engines allowed .No radi barrels allowed. You may use expanded metal or a old ac condenser in front of radiator, no wider than radiator. Can be bolted or welded into place. No trans braces allowed. You may use a aftermarket floor shifter. You may use a trans cooler. you may use a slider driveshaft.
* Doors:
Drivers and passenger door may be welded solid, other doors only 2 chains, or 2 spots 6"x 3" 1/4" plates max per seam.
* Tires and Rims:
33” max tire height limit. Rims must be factory stock rim. NO home made 1 piece rims allowed. No split rims allowed. All wheel weights must be removed.
Tires may be Doubled and tubed. No very large lugged tires,
* Suspension:
Must be stock, no aftermarket lift kits allowed. Leaf springs must
be stock stagger. NO homemade leaf springs or brackets allowed. Rear 20” minimum or front 23” max height measured from ground to bottom of the bumper.
* Truck boxes:
Must be OEM, NO homemade boxes or flatbeds allowed.
NO wedged boxes or sedagons. Tailgate may be welded or chained in factory upright location.1- 3"x12" long plate per side or 2 chains per vertical seam only.
You may add 4 - ¾” additional bolts in the box to the frame for safety. The 4
Additional bolts in bed must be bolted or welded vertically to the frame. You
also may secure front of box to the cab by using 2 chain on each side or 1 – 3” by 8” plate per side. This rule is for driver’s safety since a steel boat tank or fuel cell will be mounted in the front middle of the factory truck box. Fuel line must be ran safely thru piece of round or square steel tubing where it goes between front of box and rear of cab for drivers safety. Gas tank protector is ok but must be attached for that purpose only.
* Body bolts:
All body bolts can be changed up to 3/4" max with a 4"x4" plate. Core support bolts can be 3/4" and go thru hood with a 6"x6" plate on top of hood.
* Hood:
Can have 6 tie downs total.(6 chains, OR 2 1” plus 4- ¾” max rods (12” long), ONLY 2 1” rods can be attached to the frame in core support area and through hood, other 4 sheet metal to sheet metal. 6” plates for bolts or all thread max.)...If not using headers thru hood you must have a 12" hole cut in hood incase of fire.
*Front Bumpers:
May be stock factory pickup truck front bumper. Any automobile except New Yorker pointy type or tube steel bumpers allowed 6" tall by 2" deep by 3/8".Must be stock pickup, or automotive front brackets, L shaped homemade bracket no bigger than 6” on bumper 8” on frame, no further than 6” back from core support.
* Rear bumpers and Brackets may be changed to automotive rear bumpers, 2x6 by 3/8 rectangular tube, or you may drop your tailgate down 6” and use that in place of the bumper but not both.
* SAFETY:
Gas Tank must be mounted securely in the front center part of box.
Battery must be securely mounted in passenger area of cab.
You may install a basic 4
point cage (dash, seat and door bars). down bars allowed for driver safety only sheet metal to door bar vertically only. You may use 2 chains or pieces of 3’’ strap steel in windshield area for drivers protection. Rollover bar ok but must come off rear seat bar.
