I bolted mine down on a 90 town car. I drilled a hole where the rubber stop in the a arm is down into the piece under it and used grade 8 half inch bile and nut with washers. I'm sure you could do 1 inch there. Tom

Already cut out the piece under the a-arm to get more height.

I am running 80^ fords, wondering what gm steering boxes people are using? Or if their is a older ford box that will bolt on to the frame, and use the same splines as the stock 80s ford? that is a good worry free box to use

since you cut the bump stop out, just weld the bolt where it was. I had 3 shows on this. never broke...

Thanks for the pics but as for welding wouldn't it be stronger to weld the bolt on the side of the spring pocket to get more surface weld than just welding the head of the bolt? I know of people using a valve spring off and engine so that they can adjust height and to have a little give but i what it solid.

Sure the bolt and welds will be stronger on the outside!! Weld it up! I'm not sure that 1" rod will fit there AND give you max ride height... The ball joint will get closer to the frame as you raise the height... but it might this wasn't bolted or welded down

I'll probably use a 3/4 grade 8 and weld to the side and then weld a piece of pipe cut in half so that when the ball joint gets pushed back against the frame there is something there to kind of cradle it.

I always ran 80s Ford steering boxes dry, and never had any issues…. and then the last 2 I used broke. Both broke due to light tire shots as opposed to steering. We switched to manual Chevy boxes out of s-10's, and we broke one of those as well. We are not big believers in PS, but at this point, I don't know what else to try.

I simply run ps for comfort of steering and the most trouble i had with ps is getting a hose made to go from the 460 pump to the 80's Lincoln gear box.
