I have an 89 vic and keep breaking steering boxes last one actually breaking my wrist... What other boxes will fit it or what can I do to keep this from happening? Do you run power steering ? They make a adapter plate for a Chevy box to fit. Yeah I'd rather have a manual gear box with a good ratio but id put anything back on it but that junk square body box, and where would I get an adapter plate?

Hey guys , building a 1992 town car. Will I have to change spindles to 80’s Vic spindles to be able to take the 80s stamped steel a arms?

By what I'm told no will bolt right on. But they claim the 80s spindles are stronger. I like bubble spindles for my 12 inch rims I run on fronts

Looking at running some this year the rotor should be in the way. I take all the brakes off my bubble spindles. The off set of your rim may allow them on the box spindles but I run trailer rim thats only 5 inch wide with my 12 ply 7.00s on them. I like the bubble spindles. Yet to break them. I put a bolt through the hole that's in them to take out a weak point.

After further investigation, I’m having to swap spindles. The stamped a arm ball joints are the castle nut design which won’t be able to be bolted down into factory spindles in my 92 town car. They fit, but like I said, can’t be secured

They fit, but like I said, can’t be secured i have bolt the ball joint though the spindle and then ran the cross bolt as tight as i could get and it worked... Using upper stamp Arm. Only problem is 91-97 spindles take a lot of grinding to get room for the crown nut. 98 have a longer step out on top so the nut fits just fine. Worked the couple times i tried it. And have it done on a car right now...Then just tack the nut on to threads or drill new hole for Pin. Cause it will thread up further then normal...

I was thinking of grinding the spindle but I’m afraid of making the to weak . I have 80’s spindles so I might as well change them I’m thinking . Only problem now is what to do with the sway bar/link . I know people sometimes run a bolt from the lower arm up to the link and weld but this is something I can’t do

can you heat it and bend it so it will sit flush onto the lower arm? Then bolt it. Not really adding anything cause it was bolted before... I like the p71 sway bar better then the lincoln's but it will do the same thing. Around here ours can never make contact with PP so I use the ones with the Dip in them...

No 70s stuff. Thinking about flipping the knuckles side to side and trying it out.
