I don’t know if anyone still gets on here but I Understand the concept of pressure def on the full protector cars . I am not new to the derby world but the game has definitely changed a lot I am looking to venture back in with stock or wire . Most of the shows do not allow steel bell or tail trans . I read on here using the body to pressure frame I grasp that concept but seems core support and fenders would only hold so long before it kinks and starts to roll I guess my confusion is what to do with crossmember because back in 06-11 when I was running we kinda pressured these cars but started breaking transmissions alot so we settled for plate as that was the only way to not fold like a pop can There is still a few of us keeping the place alive. Body can help kinda pressure frame with your spacers and what not but it honestly doesn't help as much as a full protector deal would. Alot of guys are running the Reid cases or whatever which is like an ultra bell, but the whole case, in stocker shows that allow it to pressure. If you can't, you can either pressure with the stock stuff and know your at a high chance of breaking a tranny, and the car being harder for a bit longer, or mount it soft like the old days and keep trannies. Even with the reid cases, alot of guys are breaking the back of blocks off while pressuring. Something has to give at some point and where the engine and trans meet is where thats gonna want to happen. Alot of guys are learning to go back to the old way. Me personally with a stock case, drop it on a stock rubber mount or some type of rubber and ratchet straps.

That’s what I ran into back then shattered 3 trans in 3 derbies. So basically just build how I was . I appreciate the input . All I’m looking for is tidbits I know it’s trial and error. They say “derby community “ but alot of times any tips you get seem to be more hurtful or so outrageous you know it’s not true. I understand not wanting to tell your competitors your bread and butter but i don’t have any close friends in the sport and been out so long it’s def another learning curve but 15 derbies out of a “stock “ car seems like a little more then pressure lol A lot of the local shows won’t allow any engine protector unless you run the “stock” class but I’m not sacrificing a $50 engine for a $800 derby let alone a $15k engine.

I don't have much to hide and don't really care about keeping things secret so there's that. Haha. 15 out of stock car is straight up cheating or one of them paint scrapping shows.
