I am new to this all and just purchased 2 cars. A complete 98 Vic and a stripped 03. I plan on selling one of the cars. I don’t have any motors and trannies. Can you convert the 4.6 to carb?? Is it worth it. Any big differences between the two cars. It will be in a 80’s and newer chain class. Please enlighten me with all your knowledge and tips to make the car hold up. Thanks

Welcome to wecrash! There are different stickyed thread for all the different series of crown vics.In short answer to your question sell the 03. They are totally different from all other vics and not really for the novice builder. A 98 is a great chain derby car,the 4.6 is fine without carbing It. There is also a thread for stock 4.6 engine, moving wiring and stuff- some pics of my Cars are on there.

I agree with ron17t, sell the 03, they are a totally different animal to build. The 98-02 Vic's are great cars that are easy to build. Welcome to wecrash. Lots of good information in the crown Vic threads so don't be afraid to start reading and looking at pictures

Decided to build the 03. Threw a 302 in it and ran it in a 80’s and newer chain class. First night took first place with the only damage was a broke tie rod. Next weekend was a 3rd place finish with another broke tie rod. Put a mid 70’s Chrysler half pointy on the front and with 90% of hits with the front end the frame barely moved. Have to pull the ass end down and will run it again. Very strong car.

Slide a piece of pipe over tie rod & weld it
