What transmission are you running? It's possible you need to shorten your slider. Im no experienced on tri ovals. And before you do anything you need to set your rearend ride height. Your pinion angle changes as the rearend goes up.

Not to sound like a complete idiot but how do you set ride height? I’m pretty new to this. I normally just run stock rears and don’t have much experience with this yet.

I use all thread shocks. An then chain through spring bucket, springs an around rear end to pull it all into place. Have your chain gold most pressure. All thread shocks will pull it down but can pull threads.

I have 1inch all thread shocks just haven’t put them on just yet.

I do it to set ride height. The angle I do with control arms. Swap to longer uppers to bring it up or shorter lowers.

Might be a stupid question, but will the angle change if I lower the whole car so weight is on the wheels?

Allthread is the easiest way to adjust ride height. Everyone does it different. I run it through the middle of the coil spring.

I guess the issue I’m having with the rear is getting everything to line up with where the brackets are supposed to be mounted to. I can’t seem to get everything bolted together and have the rear look like it’s not facing the ground.

Need a lil more work with the grinder on frame. A flapper disc is your friend 😎 Sorry but I had to point that out lol

Where the lower control arm bracket goes to the frame doesn’t look right...I’ve never used ztr brackets, but I don’t remember my control arms pointing that strait up on my Vic

If you are mocking it up to figure things out. Remove the springs. Move the rearend to desired ride height and pinion angle and allthread shocks. Then after you figure everything out. Then add some tall stiff springs. I usually use the stock front springs on the rear and 71-76 caddy springs on the front. And then suck it down tight. But what I prefer means nothing because I don't know what your rukes or build style is. Everyone does it a little differently.

When I put mine in, same thing, 98-02 frame with ztr brackets and a 10 bolt. I left everything loose until it was all lined up. Yes the big bolt on the upper mounts is to locate the bracket on the package tray but you need to drill your own holes for the rest. Also the mounts you have on the frame for the lowers are supposed to have the opening of the C towards the back of the car so the control arm has maximum movement and won't hit the mounting bracket. I waited to put the slider in until I had the body on so I could set ride height and pinion angle. To change pinion angle on these it is easiest to change the lowers either longer or shorter since it is just square tubing.
