Even though it's in the rules no full engine protectors, are you guys going to allow them in 80's wire class next year? A few of them were allowed last year, just wanna know beforehand so I can put mine on my engine. This is a very legitimate question. I talked to many 80s wire guys just in the spirit of conversation and this was a common topic and obvious concern. From what I heard nobody cares what's allowed, just that it's understood what's allowed. I can't blame them for that. That's been my only concern my entire derby career.

It would be nice to know what's going on with the engine protectors. Had a few friends run last year and built to the rules only had lower cradle and DP. And we show up and there were full engine protectors on several cars. If there allowing them at the show, but says in the rules not allowed, then maybe change that rule in the set of rules? It's a very irritating situation.

No full engine cradles will be allowed for 2018 you guys have my word on that. No protectors that connect the front to back will be permitted!

Just curious, what will be done to the guys who have full engine protectors for 80s wire? Will they be loaded or given an option to disassemble them? I will give them a chance to fix the problem by telling them what has to be done it will be up to the driver if they want to make the changes or not run that's a Decision they will have to make. At the end of the day rules are rules I can let drivers know what they have to fix and how it needs to be fixed it will be up to them to make the changes or decide not to fix it and load there cars. The rules clearly state no full engine cradles so no full cradles will be permitted to run no exceptions.
