I had a stock class car there last year with no core support spacer with a chevy engine with stock mounts and the hood was not cut out for the fan....
So I know it can be done...

I don't see the problem with having the stock mount or a couple hockey pucks in there.

My personal opinion is I think he is doing to cater to the old iron. The more I look at the car with the factory body mount in it I am not going to run because I don't want to destroy another radiator.

If you bolt it up in stock location you only need a 3 1/2 inch spacer. So that means you have to find a way to pull it down that far to the frame. With the engine cradle and mounts that i run the engine will pry sit higher than the front core support.
