Put the quadrajet back on if it ran well with that. Checking fuel pressure couldn't hurt but it's probably a carb issue.

The carb is a fresh rebuild, im thinking its too much cfm for the motor, too much air

And plus the carb that came off was a junk electronic carb

I went through this multiple times with mine finally I took my carb to a shop has it completely rebuilt choke and high idle eliminated tapped and plugged all my vacuum ports I didn't need and I have not been disappointed no issues ran two derbies already and she runs like a champ. Rochester 2 Jet

Ok guys i fixed it, too much carb for a stock small block, put a 500 cfm 1825 on and it runs awesome, was choking it out because of too much air and not enough fuel
