A lot of guys seem to just mount their hoods with hood pins and let it be at that. Would it help to fold the sides of the hood down on the inside and bolt them to the inner fender?

Personally, I bolt, weld, chain, or wire as much as the rules allow. I have never seen anyone use hood pins. It might/might not work. IDK?

IDK? by hood pins, I mean althread to the frame, inner fender, and fire wall. Idk what you guys call those if they aren't hood pins. I can't imagine it would fold in the way of things if I made sure to bolt it and wire the corners so they don't come back into the engine bay?

Anywhere you can run allthread through the frame, sheetmetal, and hood it helps hold everything together. JMO

love how the Utah guys cut their hood hole and have the edges overlapping and bolted/welded straight down to the inner fender-made me cut it here though lol

EVERY SHOW WE RUN REQUIRES HOODS TO BE OFF FOR INSPECTION. AND WITH HAVING TO GO STRAIGHT TO IMPOUND IT IS DDIFFUCULT TO DO JUST A WHOLE LOT OTHER THAN THE STANDARD 6 POINTS.

If you want to get creative, flip the hood over and bend the side lip up. I'm surprised more doesn't go into the hood like all the trunk fab'ing we see. It would probably be better to get a hood that is too big, then modify away.
