Got 2nd in Stock show with 11 cars full of luminas and Montes. Removed rear bumper and shocks ,wire from holes in frame where shocks were to trunk deck. Then wire from roof to taillight panel Pulled temp sensor. Zip tied temp sensor under the hood. Moved CPU to inside strut tower. Removed shoot bumper mounting brackets and bolted solid in the front. Removed air filter and ran a outterwear over the intake tube. Zip tied coil packs as good as I could so they wouldn't move. I also pulled a vacuum line that made the car run better. It was up front by the intake tube. I also removed thermostat. It was clear that the Chevys had a better front end but the rear ends of these cars can hang. The downfall was the car didn't like lower RPM's most likely due to cutting the exhaust to short. I then remounted O2 sensor about 10 inches after the manifold. I think the O2 sensor became ineffective. It kept stalling out when you got off the gas. Also found out that the car liked 2ND gear. I did no tranny mods. Could have won but the battery lost its power. Hope this helps. http://instagram.com/p/BnB1PkuAqRf

Didn’t see a separate thread for it, so how does the early 90s E body platform hold up? Contemplating picking up a 1991 Buick Riviera with the 3.8L. It would be for a relatively stock show. Do the subframes have a cradle like w body platform or Camrys? Thanks in advance!

I'm not handing out a ration....just answering a question in short form. Built one (90 Rivi). Maximized it to the available rules. It represented a whole lot of time that in my opinion was wasted. Enough so that I crushed the equally clean matching 91 Toronado.

Has anyone carb a pre series 1 3.8? In my research, the pre-series 1s are the best candidate to carb swap for the 3800s. I'd be careful when you weld the adapter plate on though, the intake seems kind of thin.

So I’m building a 97 lesabre. We are allowed some K member plates. Here are the rules regarding them:”All Body bolts and mounting hardware must remain stock. This means no replacing bolts or removing mounts. If Bolts are rusted out call for instruction on how to repair to pass tech. You may use 4- 8”x8”x1/4”plates max to weld from the K frame to the uni body. These plates must be within 8” of the factory mounting bolts”
Where would you put these plates?

Picked up a preran 89 Regency "98" with a 3800 in it. The steering column where it tilts is broke and the ignition is now on the left side and turn signal is on the right. key still turns but the mechanism that contacts the starter is no longer there. What wires in the column do I need to hot wire the ignition and what wire do I need to hook to a push button?
