I got my first DP from a supposed "name brand" on here a few years ago. It my first DP, due to them not being allowed any derbys around here. The "kit" was suppose to come with "everything needed" including bolts. I had a hell of a time getting everything to fit due to not having long enough dowel pins, proper bolts, a crank spacer, the terrible welding, some very warped metal, and the holes not being drilled properly. My torque converter and flex plate were vibrating like a dildo. I did not understand the root of my issues even after numerous phone calls where the "supposedly reputable vendor" told me that it was all my fault. He claimed that nobody else ever had a problem. It was not until that I talked to someone who was actually trying to help who gave me some pointers and new products that fixed the problems. I thank pourdown437 for helping understand what was wrong and helping me fix the problems. There should be more vendors like him.

You were missing the extended pins and torque converter spacers or what? That torque converter spacing is very important. Been told you don't need to mess with it if it's 1/4" or less but I am still putting them in.

Yes it did not come with longer dowel pins and was told that I did not need a crank spacer. Well now that I have one, I strongly disagree. It solved the vibration/wobble issue.

Are you making the dowel pins or buying them

You can buy them off speedway. If your running a stock bell, it would be advised to put them in. Under $20 I do believe.

Dowel pins can be made from the smooth shank of a 5/8s bolt.

If you tag someone, their name turns blue. All you have to do is click on the blue name just like a web address link.
