I figured this 74 would last just fine on a Y frame. After two runs it was flattened out bad. This was with no seam welding though.

Those year of doba bumpers suck! You need to find some of the good ones. They tend to not bend as easy

Are the late 70s volare bumpers any good only on opening in the front is were license plate was there are two types- one has a full boxed backing and these are good, the other is open across the back and these are not good

It has closed backing and almost full seam welded and the ends are capped

Depends on what you put it on. They are still a cheaper bumper right now though I've seen some with a 100 tag on them.

Mainly compacts (wbodys) put looking into full size lately Good bumpers but if allowed to stuff, stuff. Also whether this bumper is right for you depends on if you want to be more offence or defence. On my mopars I prefer a flat bumper because I believe it will help the front end stay straighter longer, if you want to kill ball joints go with a pointy but you will nose alot earlier.

Are 74 Monaco bumpers worth a damn? I am running a 74 Monaco wagon stock and never ran a Monaco ran other types of mopars but no monacos. Reason I ask is they have a long whole throught the entire middle. It looks solid but have a concern of it twisting.

It looks solid but have a concern of it twisting. there softer then normal shocker flats but still do good, probably better for a stock derby, they are really tough when welded up.
