There is no way a Buick is harder in the front than a Chevy a Buick will start rolling in the horns in those big holes b4 a Chevy will even think about rollin

How aboutt a brief descriprions of your rules. Its hard to answer this question without all the variables like motor and bumper swaps, chain/full weld, etc.

Bumper swaps ok. Can only weld bumpers to shocks to frame.

Run the buick with chevy bumpers and front clip. Tuck trunk crease/beat in rear qaurters, dimple and the ass end should be real tough and the front decent.

What are peoples thoughts on this now days? Im stuck between a 76 olds 98 and a 76 impala. olds is rusty in c pillar but we can patch. Impala has some pin holes on the floor boards but trunk is clean. Just need help deciding on which car to take to a limited weld show.

If it was me I'd take the front clip and front bumper off the chevy and put on the olds 98.

I would take either to limited weld. I wouldn't hack up both cars to make one tho...

Seeing this was started June, 19 2013, I'll venture to say both of these cars cease to exist..... GRANTED, after a short retirement, I do still have most of the cars I had in 2013

No still have both cars and others. Just trying to get opinions on which cars are the favorite. The cleanliness of big money show cars has been the big kicker. I have a rusty wagon I would take to any show around home but not to a big show.

The 74-76 limiteds/park ave and olds 98 are 2x better in the back than an impala. Toss up on the front.

Personally, I think '74-'76 Chevys are a great all around car. They especially shine in bolt and chain or stock rules mainly because you'll be hard pressed (not impossibly) to find a better car in stock form... Having that said, '74-'76 Electras and Limiteds are my favorite sedans.

That buick will not have plastic inner fenders, that would be the olds cars. They will be metal. It will have a 455/400 in it, so it should have a 12 bolt as well. There is a good chance it will also be a tow package car. The front ends on a buick are just as hard as a chevy even with a '74 chevy bumper on it. The big body buicks & olds have pretty good front ends, I wouldn't be afraid to take one nose to nose with a chevy and I've ran enough big body cars & a few chevy's, I'd take the big body anyday. If you've ran enough of these "big body" cars you would know a 76 wouldnt have tow package............ Around here, all buicks have tow packages...

76 buick with olds front bumper. Keeps the buick from bending in front of a arms before it does at the firewall in stock class.
