Or just ground it in the cab and have a screwdriver handy, good/bad idea? Having a screw driver loose in the car is a bad idea IMO. If it starts by jumping 2 posts on the solenoid, run a piece of wire from each of those two posts to inside the car. Touch the 2 wires together or run a push button. Same as jumping the solenoid. I have little to no experience with neons, but I'm sure it could be done with a wire from the positive terminal and one post on the solenoid as well.

Not a problem. That's how I run all of mine. Just be careful, it will start in gear that way. Didn't want you trying to use a screw driver while taking a hit, that could get messy.

That's why I like posting on here, because I get simple answers I would've overlooked... and yeah, impaling myself with a screwdriver wouldn't be too fun.. lol

Update: Needed to move the Neon, jumped it off the solenoid - moved it. Shut it down and went to take the key out - wouldn't come out. So I went to put it in the on position to retry and turned the key a little to much and I heard it crank over a wee bit. (WTF) Looked down and I was in neutral (no idea why) but cranked it over and it started right up. Put it back in park and tried - nothing. Stupid safety switch.

Has anybody ever run a pt cruiser or seen one run? I know there built on a neon chassis, but when I looked it up online it says it's classified as a light truck. Had a buddy offer me one for free, so I'm just trying to figure out if I can run it now.

I've seen a few videos of them running on YouTube, if I remember right they did pretty well. I'll post the links if I run across them again.

Front struts are very week same a neon and you will loose the powersterring if you get his on the front passanger side . Build a better cage for the rad ( stock one is shit ) and use the back end as long as you can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anybody have a manual steering rack for 95-6 neon? Why would you need that ? Just unhook your power steering lines.
