I would just get a little bit better built bumper from someone else, not disrespecting dec, he is a good guy and I have bought couple sets of headers from him but I don’t think the bumpers would hold up as good as some others. It’s also not super hard to build your own, just material cost. Lots of options out there. I was looking into that but my biggest concern is it has to look stock. I have some skins from a vic that wasn't steel and prices some 3x3 and 3x5 but around here they want u to but a 24ft stick of each.

I've ran against a couple and they seemed pretty good. I'd run one in a show where the tech guys dont know what they are looking at that and they don't allow homemade bumpers. But if the show allows homemade bumpers I'd rather build one out of 3x3 tubing just because of the price difference.

True, a couple options if they have to look stock would be getting a ski or circle z 74 impala bumper, or the New Yorker bumpers they sell. A slightly different option would be to get the NLR 76 impala bumper inserts, which heavily reinforces a stock 76 bumper with gussets and what not essentially making it just like a square tube bumper, I think someone also makes a manufactured 76 look alike just like the 74 and New Yorker, that being said you could also just load a stock type bumper you have already. We have about 8 bumpers that won’t ever bend ranging between a ski bumper and a loaded square Vic bumper.

I also don’t know exactly how your tech crew is but usually they really don’t pay attention to if it truely looks stock or not, as long as it’s nothing outrageous

Is a 70s Cordoba bumper too much to put on a compact? I would run it, I like hard bumpers with a mild point on basically anything. Other guys like derbykings get away with running pointies on cars that wouldnt work as well as me. Alot of it depends on your track and driving style.

Is a 70s Cordoba bumper too much to put on a compact? Unless it's a 5 foot car, you're going to do more harm than good.

I know this is gonna be a HUGE shot in the dark but im hoping someone can help me identify a bumper. Its gonna take a long time mopar guru to know this bumper but if you've ever seen one you wont forget it lol. A few years ago i took a mopar bumper in on trade and ended up selling it but iv'e always wondered what it was off of. The guy i got it from didn't know either but it was definitely mopar as that was easy to tell from how it mounted up. Iv'e googled a bunch of mopars and the closest i could find in appearance was a 76 Grand Fury. It had 2 holes outside of center that were just holes...they weren't turn signal holes etc but when you turned it over and looked up inside the backing MY GOD it had a $hitload of gussets and plates running every direction...more than any other bumper iv'e ever seen. And you could only see them if you really got up in there and looked for them. If a guy would remove the skin and welded just what was there factory he'd have a weeks worth of welding that's how many gussets it had. Id like to know what kinda bumper this was and try to find another. Thanks in advance for any help!
