I picked up a pointy bumper that has internal gussets I'd say every eight inches does anyone know what it came off of im curious wouldn't mind having another one I'm guessing a 70s Ford bumper of some sort, those have gussets that need torched out before you load them. Oddly enough one would think all those gussets would make for a pretty stout bumper... Not so much, the backing is thinner than GMs or Mopars of the same vintage. Of course, this is purely just a speculating guess without a visual aid.of the actual bumper.

I've actually ran this bumper a few times and its barely bent had I on a Vic and it nosed it hard and a 62 Newport with the same results

We've got about 15 runs on a 70s ford bumper. We plated the backing plate but that is all. It is actually a huge pointy now. The sides bent in to create a perfect "V" on this last run. Had always been ran hard on anything from a festiva to a vic, or a ranger to a ram charger.

I bought this fully seam welded, pre ran bumper for 35 bucks. It's in great condition and STOUT. The "point" from back of backing to front of chrome, above lisc. Plate cutout is 7". Just from pics on here, I'm thinking newport flat? Anyone confirm that or know what else it is?

Looks like a 77-79 T bird bumper too me. If left stock usually a one and done bumper. Nice bumpers to load though. Has anybody ever put one of these on a W-body? I picked one up dirt cheap and was contemplateing running it on my 96 regal. chopping crush boxes off and hardnosing... just seems like it might be overkill on the front...

Railroad ties? As in the 7"x 9" timbers they use under the rail itself?
Could be hard to weld wood.

Bolts and rope lashings might be a better choice for wood.
They're heavy, so maybe many strands of 9 wire.

Better yet, I can get you some tie plates to weld to the frame then you can just spike the ties to the tie plates.
Ok, my fun is over, lol
