Okay, all pun aside, I would run it. You don't wanna go too strong. Just get a good bumper, load it with some tubing, and bam, you have a good bumper.

I wouldn't run it.
To hard to get a good weld on. That stuff is crazy heavy and hard.
Also, pretty sure its illegal to have RR iron in your possession.

We load drivers doors with them. They fit good and tight between the skin and door.

We can hard nose our bumpers around here for compacts. I have never done it before so do you normally weld the shock to the frame and then after that weld the bumper to the shock, or do you normally bolt the shock to the car and weld the bumper to the shock? Any advice on it would help out. Thanks

Really depends on what kind of car. Hardnosing refers to welding the bumper directly to the frame.

Anyone ever try a 74 el camino front bumper? They look pretty solid... Same as a Malibu. Some say the 74-77 El Camino bumpers are just a skin, as they can be classified as a truck, I myself have never seen this. We have pulled a few from El Caminos that were identical to a Malibu with a full backing.

We have pulled a few from El Caminos that were identical to a Malibu with a full backing. Every one I have ever seen was just like a Malibu. They aren't absolutely great, but they aren't bad in stock form with seams welded. They are great for metrics because they have enough give in them to be somewhat forgiving.
