Got a quick question I ordered axles from quick performance for a Ford 9" with Chevy 5 on 5 bolt pattern and was wondering what hubs do I need? Please help

I am having troubles getting the third member out of y new 9". I have the axles pulled out and the nuts an copper washers off of all 10 bolts but it just won't budge. Anything specific to do or just get rough with a hammer?

That's what I tried for quite a while. It just wouldn't seperate at all.

hmm mine was like that and i just worked my way around one side then the next back and forth and it finally fell out...not the easiest thing to hammer on and catch from a lift either

On ford 9" this is a posi rear end stock I believe. But is it derby ready? Or do I need to ou a spool in or what?

i put a mini spool in mine to begin with...will be upgrading to full spool over the winter be warned the 28 spline axles are trash though...avoid all shots to back tires at least be on the brakes or off the gas

It is a 28 spline..... Was told its a 31 spline and I isnt.... I guess If I ever buy another one I will be pulling the axle out and visually checking next time... Couldn't I get 31 spline axles and a 31 spline spool and be good? I am new to 9" so this may be common sense I don't know.

yeah but i have been told that the 31 splines are weak as well...i would save the money and spend it on moser 33 or 35 spline axles and a full spool

axles are gonna run you 370.00 free shipping with jegs if this is going to be your primary rear end you should also consider back bracing which is another 70 and you would have to check on barrings and a spool i already had a spool and dont recall the price..should also consider axle savers from TRAVI157 on here then you wont bend those high dollar axles...seems like he told me 175 for the savers

it all depends on how much you plan on derbying and how serious you want to take the sport

with the offset of the pinion on a 9" going into a GM sedan or wagon, does the floor need to be beat / cut away so drive shaft clears or will it fit down the tunnel?

yeah but i have been told that the 31 splines are weak as well... That comment belongs in the derby myths thread. Been running them for years, taken a lot of abuse and not broke one yet.
