Looking to carb a 94 3.1 lumina. Just wondering how to setup works? It's covered in big detail in the 3.1 thread in the compact section. But there's several ways to do it. Buy a special made intake from a vendor, weld an adapter to the top of the plenum if you can do that yourself, or build a tube that bolts to the throttle body location and has a carb on top.

I put a gasket kit in a rochester 2G and now it pumps way too much fuel and floods out over the top like the float is stuck... The carb I was using before was a stock 2G and never had this problem before, so now the question is what did I screw up when I put the new kit in??

Float level is set wrong or float is filling up with gas..... Mis matched or dirty needle and seat.... Leaking gasket under the seat.... Or too much fuel pressure..... All are possibilities

All are possibilities Yeah its a new needle and seat, I'll check the gasket to make sure though... Are the floats adjustable in these like the 4412 holley's?

Only by bending them to set the height and bending a stop tab to set the drop

Reading a previous comment on this thread I'm going to restate it. People really do not like to give advice on carb setup. I have read through the W-body and 3.1 thread and am still confused on carbing a 3.1 or 3100 motor.

The problem with giving specifics is that there are way too many variables to have one correct answer. What works best for a guy running ten minute heats with no radiator in the mountians at WOT on 87 octane, will be different than a guy running easy for an hour with proper cooling system at the beach running 110 race fuel. And if someone says use x carb and y jets, someone will disagree because the metering block is wrong for x cfms on that cubic inch motor. Etc.

Even with specific details on an engine not every one will like the same set up
