Majority of the 98-02 are steel. Less but still have them 92-97 are and 03 and up are majority steel too. So look at all years.
Excluding linc. From that list

Worth running one if not allowed watts conversion? Fairly big money 80 and newer stock show. Any motor, trans, rear end allowed. Can hardnose but can’t shorten frame more than an inch. Can run a slider. Lower cradle only, no aftermarket bells or tails shafts on trans. Bought an 01 vic before I found out about the no watts conversions.

No experience with one but I'd think if aluminum no both 98-02s I had control arms were like stamped steel and they were super thin the Watts link was steel on mine when I burned them out.

Any rear end? so you can fab the rear to fit the watts? Then i have seen them hold their own. 9 wire or chain placement plays a key roll.

I had a few ideas along the lines of what you’re saying. If I decide to use it instead of finding a square body, when I start building I’ll share my ideas and see what you think. Thanks for the input so far everyone. As far as the other questions I have not looked at it too hard yet. I’ll get it on the lift soon and see.

Last couple 98-02s I’ve ran have been left with the watts link... they’ve held up fine... biggest issue I’ve had is the brackets on the outside of the frame cutting my tires.... I do run Mazda rear wheels tho

Read/look at pics through out the ford section, there is a LOT of information here if you are willing to read, look and learn. IMO these really benefit from running a stiffer rear bumper that rolls and catches the tail lights/quarters. I know people have different build styles for 80+fords, but i really dislike my rails pulling together before they have a chance to roll in on themselves.
