Ok what are guys doin with the front upper control arms on these What do you mean by DOING??? You can put a lot of different styles uppers on. OLD Ford, 80's ford, old iron gm, 80's gm... Have to figure out what to do with ball joint and spindle though...Either change them to 80's ford or old iron gm. Usually I go for either 80's ford with 80's for spindle. Old iron gm with factory spindle or and old iron spindle(stronger but less height) 80's gm and fab in a ford upper ball joint and use 80's spindle.

They are all “stock” just not for that car, that’s what people mean usually. Atleast that’s what we say

New to 98 to 02s never ran one never been around them getting built mostly been around old iron. I read through a lot of pages but did not see a definitive answer. Do you need to swap all steering components with 80s ? I know upper a arms and gear box and spindles and tire rods are getting aftermarket but what about lower a arms and steering linkages . Any help would be appreciated .

It's been a long time since I did it, but I do not believe you need to swap steering linkages. I don't recall having to swap tie rods either, and I ran the stock lower control arms.

Ball joints is up to you. 4 bolt steering boxes seem to be ok as long as power steering is working. Can change spindles and uppers usually have to do spindles if doing uppers. I dont but always. Have ran them all stock before too with new upper ball joints and held together. This year for a semi stock show with lower cradles and solid suspension allowed I'm going to run all stock front suspension to hopefully prove stock is good enough. Less work too...

As long as your ball joints are in decent shape the stock will do fine
