That is a good point homer. Its mainly to keep the tire on the bead. For better manouver ability. And height if you was to get a flat. I'm getting some geo tracker rims and welding centers in. The rim I posted has the thickest bead I've found including SS wheels

Here's two different options that we offer. Without getting into a big debate on side effects of added weight to axels and steering components I will say that I'm sure that there probably is some amount of added stress to components but from the testing of ourselves and of countless others we have found them to work quite well for our goal. It's kind of like the '74 impala bumper versus the '76 impala bumper debate. Nate

do u make the full weld in center for the SS wheels in a unilug Yes, we can make them with the universal pattern for you or any other bolt pattern for that matter. We can also make these "full" centers in any custom diameter to fit the needs of any rim. Feel free to send me a pm if you like. Nate

Dodge van late 80s early 90s. I also found them on dodge trucks of the same years.

Dodge van rims are a lot like ss just with 5 circles instead of somewhat triangles the slotted ones on the first page came on trucks

Here's a pic with out the weld in center.

I have had good luck with the factory 70's ford rims, the type that has the bubble between the lug nuts. In my experience it is stronger than the gm rims of the same style that are flat between the lug nuts. Bear in mind that i don't run shows that require 26 ply tires and rear diffs that end up weighing 900lbs.

There both 15's and the slotted ones are definitely heavy duty much heavier then ss rims.
