I ran a 73 toronado in 2010 in a figure 8 series. Won 2 races. Only FWD to ever win that I can remember. 2009 had trouble keeping the axles in. Welded back tranny mount in solid. Chained the hell out of it. never lost another axle. They dont break they pull out at the 3 balls. Only problem I found is the transmissions. A bitch to change and dont seem to last very long if they get hot. Front looks real tough with lots of bracing and a very stout engine cradle. Not much long runs of frame to bend at. There was a guy on here doing a RWD conversion with lots of pics but cant remember his name. Cant be that hard just build a tunnel. Rear axle bolt up just like an impala. Oh and you cant put tubes in those stock rims and cant weld the gears. Not enough room to get in there and get much done.

I ran a buick riviera the same body style as that. Had lots of fun in it. Got a hardest hit trophy which was my first trophy. Couldn't drive it backwards for shit so I went forward all night!!! Protect the front wheels and you should have some fun in it.

I found a real clean '77 Eldorado. I would probably convert it to a rwd if I built it but might sell it.

Watch the videos Freakshow posted on page one and you'll want to run fwd! the fronts are tough but have a serious dogleg near the core support which won't last forever so I can't see why you'd spend the time/effort to convert one.

I recently built one for a stock show, a 78 eldorado, it is possible to weld front diff. But the balljoints were really weak. changed then to 3/4" bolts and never had a problem, core supports look the same as regular caddys to me, wasn't welded just had two body bolts under the rad.
