Im having trouble getting tubes into these eldorado/tornado rims. The valve stem comes out in the inside of the rim. Any recommendations there?

drill a hole where you want the valve stem to come out.

Are you really able to weld the gears in the tranny in these FWD cars? I would imagine it would be dam near impossible to turn with them welded. You would think something would have to give, not?

I'm wondering the same thing, I pulled the cover off mine and it looks like I won't be able to get very much weld on it, only one side is visible

Also according to that, and other websites, the 71-76 Eldorados have the same exact frame (the E-chasis) as same year Regals (despite being converted to front wheel drive in both the Eldorado and Tornado editions). honestly that wouldnt be possible as the regal was not produced until 1973 and was a coil/coil suspension car while the eldo and toro cars were torsion bar/coil and earlier toros were tosion/leaf suspension. i seriously would like to see pictures of anyone who claims to have converted one to rwd and see how they hacked the rear torsion bar mounting crossmember in order to run a rwd driveshaft and the trans tunnel needed to do so.

I guarantee its possible because I was underneath it repairing a broken trailing arm. I believe he welded a package tray, used coils, and a driveshaft tunnel from a donor car. You would know him too Crusher, you ran against him when you lived up here.

anyone ever ran a 68 eldo in a stock build show? It will have a bar behind the seat and the doors chained shut with a healthy 472 burbling under hood.
I can prebend the rear but it looks very unpredictable with a single mono leaf spring per side and some crazy creases and folds on the rear quarter panels factory..
I am thinking it is going to want to go down factory.. any opinions?
Before anyone copies and posts the old sticky 68-72 caddy thread and tells me to read,, I have been through all that and not much information there and almost none to fit my particular questions.
thanks a lot , mark
