Ive had no issues out of my mini spool. Although a full spool is probably better. IDK

Most axles I dont like minispools, I've seen the little blocks wear out (never on a derby car though), but with the design of the 14 bolt the minispool seems to work quite well.

For derby purposes, do you want a 14 bolt from a dually so that it is narrower, or will a single wheel 14 bolt fit without being too wide?

14 bolt Dually is the widest version and is too wide, the cab and chassis dually is the narrow version most people run. You can create your own cab and chassis by using the hubs from a dually on the housing of a single wheel rear.

I ended up getting a 14 bolt from a new chevy truck. I did not realize that it was a c clip axle. Did I just waste my money? Should I sell it and find a different one?

I will have to find another or put a 12 bolt or 8 3/4 in my imperial.

new guy looking for opinions here - I was given a SRW D60. Thinking about using it in an application where it's too wide - narrow the whole thing and use regular SRW type wheels ? Or leave the axle stock width, and run single dually style wheels to push the tires under the wheel wells ? (assuming the width and wheel offset would even work out).

What application are you needing it for that its top wide and what is its WMS measurement.
Honestly I wouldnt spend any money or time building/modifying a D60. They have relatively small shafts (30 spline 1.3" IIRC) compared to every other full floater having 1.5" shafts

“Limited weld” Compact truck - class allows 8 lug rears, but no “homemade” wheels. The truck I have has no rear end in it, and I was given this Dana. I was thinking it would be way overkill for this class, even stock. It’s 4.11 limited slip. I haven’t measured the rear but I was told 66” WMS
