they did but I got the resistor for the black box that is in the 96. I also tried the box from the 95 with the same results. When swapping engines do most just put a carb on? I can only figure that the injectors aren’t getting power due to different pin locations at the firewall.

Update. Pretty sure the engine wiring harness has different pinout at firewall than the dash harness. Cut hole in intake an put a Rochester on it, problem seems solved.

Has anyone ever put a 3.4 out of a 95 monte into a 96 lumina? I have put in a resistor and got it to crank and the security light comes on for a moment then goes off. It will fire on ether. I drove the 95 to the shop when I pulled the Kframe and motor and left the engine harness from the 95 with the engine then plugged it into the firewall of the 96. I am wondering if the blue wire on the 95 is in a different pin than the 96. 95 had resistor system also. Thank you for the help. I hope that 3.4 isn't a DOHC Engine. your just wasting your time if it is.

Ok I just dealt with a 2000 grand am fully stripped out no dash all wiring not cut that would start and then die thought security or vac did the 10 minute trick didnt work read about lights we didnt cut any but no lights were on in the instrument cluster only turn signals and then I noticed a reset button in the fuse block inside in the car and then I noticed 2 black sensors that had bolts on them with metal so i thought instantly grounds we touched them to the dash bar and we heard clicking I then had my buddy hold them to the dash bar and i hit the reset button we tried starting it it ran longer this time we then turned on the fuel pump on and then started it again and bammmm she was running again !! Rule of thumb check grounds and hit reset lol

I have a 98 lumina. I have no keys to it. My question is when using the vats bypass kit to find out what ohms it is. Do I need to break the ignition to get power to things when jumping starter.
