If rules will allow it, it's not difficult to get creative with differential placement to lose 3".
But there are plenty of other hard & heavy cars that fit into 105 without WB mods.

Is there anyway to make a 80 camaro fit in a 105" wheelbase class They don't have a wheel base limit cuz they want short cars on the track. They make those limits to keep really hard cars out. Yes you could make it shorter but the guy teching it will look at it and say "2nd Gen Camaro huh? those are 108" cars whats it doing here" Then you get to run with the full size class for all your trouble.

Depends on the area. Not all inspectors will know the factory wheelbase. They should however be able to tell the tires are not centered in the wheelwell. 3 inches is a lot.

I only mentioned it because there are places around here whose rules will allow it, but most of those places have 107" or 108" rules to start with.

If they allowed 108" and you could shorten I'd be building a 60's T-bird for sure. Nasty little buggers!

I agree with you Vona but it doesn't really matter what the inspectors know. It only takes one butt hurt little winer to go running up to them and say that is not a 105" car and your done.

Yeah and like I said, 3 inches is a lot and will be noticeable. Someone will bitch and you will be screwed. Although I ran against a bunch of Luminas at a 107 show a few years ago even after several drivers approaching the promotor about it. Depends on the promotor.

^^^ Easier to say when you can actually do stuff to them. Rules I'm building to kind of suck but I'll get one junked regardless. I think the next one I build will be more on the mod side. If mine ends up being half what bwill22's is I'll be extatic.

Everyone thinks ours is legit outlaw. I can do a lil cutting and pass some county fair shows. Its all about how you use the plate and kickers. Not how many you have

I'd like to run 7.00-15's on mine but will likely have to run my 7.00-14's due to bumper hight being too high. Here's a pic of mine with a 350 and th350 still in it no welding done 7.00-15's on the front and 23-8.50-14's on the back. After suspension is up all the way it will be much much higher. So it depends on your build. Do you want a way high bumper? can you weld your suspension...?

^^^This car now sits much much different. This was just the day I brought it home and threw some derby wheels on it to see what it could, should, would look like.
