I did alot of internet searching trying to find the answer but in the end i couldnt find anything. All i could find is how to hotwire a 4T60 E just stands for electronic which they all are i believe. I dont have enough time to figure out all the wiring ive got the derby friday evening and i work steady days, when i get home its dark and im working on it all hrs of the night then off to work in the morning. Ill keep digging.

So i made the switch from aluminium knuckles to steel, i used a 1999 2 dr manual cavalier knuckles and took the drivers side axle. You'll need 2 drivers side axles 1998 and newer to work in the 1998 and new knuckles. a buddy of mine gave me a 97 and older axle and would not match up spline and width wide into the knuckle. A cavalier drivers side axle will slide right into the cup of the drivers side alero 2.4 but the drivers side axle from a cavalier will not slide into the passenger side cup. You have to remove the cup on the passenger side alero and install the cup and axle from the cavalier. The ball bearings on the cavalier axle are to big for the cup on the stock alero.
Also a 80's Cutlass G body front bumper the 2 end bolts on either end will bolt right up to the bolt holes on the alero. with little modifications. I increased bolt size so i had to widen the hole.

Will something like this hold up? I broke all the pieces that holds the axle together so I welded it together. Not the splines it can still move freely but the ring gear is welded solid No the wheel size has to pivot an you took all that out.

Ok I'll start off by telling you what I plan on doing front bumper gone going to put a vic bumper on I'm also going to be hard nosing it all thread from bottom of the core support to the top welding all doors cage gas tank protector battery protector all sub frame mounts bolted all the way up big washers. Possible rear axle swap with leaf's I'm not sure yet but removing struts and putting all thread through the shocks Running bolts through fender wells pulling hood forward then I'm going to find out if my but can find other alternatives to cavalier knuckles and the trunk will be tucked and bolted and pre bent with an old cutlass bumper with shocks welded on

Couple things to watch out for on these cars. It would probably be easier to just keep the stock sub frame cut the tabs off the front that spaces the sub to the frame and suck it Toft the frame bends every time right behind those spacers put a piece of Althread right there down to the sub if you can go thru it even better. Bumper mount low. Not at the top of the frame but put it right in the middle of the frame and sub frame maybe even closer to the sub frame and lift the angle of the car. Dash bar I think is for strength. Down bars off the dash have fun with those lol

I ran a built one last season, it can compete if built right, but a lot needs to go into it. These make ok gut and go cars but a w body will have an advantage. Build and drive smart and you will do ok. Good luck.
