if built right could these cars be competitive against the toyota camry? up here in canada most shows have a max wheel base for v6 cars at 106" and these cars are at 107" if its a factory 4cyl no limit on wheel base. anything over 106 is classed as Fullsize. camrys are becoming dinosaurs as they are the only car that can be stock and still beat a beefed up cavalier. i build camrys but im looking for alternatives. i got a 4cyl alero gonna build it. id post the rules but its quite lengthy impactmotorsports.ca/rules-for-demolition-derby/2012-mini-rules/
rwd allowed ?
Yes any 4cyl or 6cyl under 106"
You don't win 2nd but the payout is better than 3rd Steven Ellis #124
Alrighty I looked for a thread that might be of help and this is as close as I got. Is a th-125 the same bellhousing as the newer model 3t 4t GM trannies? I've got a th125 and I wanna mate a 3.1 to it if it'll bolt up
I'm using an 01 for a figure 8 race and the front plastic bumper isn't going to last long. Looking for tips and ideas for stuffing the frame and mounting the 2x6 bumper. What size tubing can fit in the frame and how far back can I get with it? Looks like a 2" round will fit yo firewall but I'm sure I can get something bigger like a 2×3 maybe?

Got a quick question that hopefully somebody can answer for me. I'm building a Corsica and looking to eliminate the brake booster and was wondering if there's a master cylinder that would accomplish that for me and bolt up without being a huge pain in the rear. Any help is much appreciated.

Hey fellas im trying to find a steel bumper that will pretty much bolt in place of the plastic bumper on my 2001 Malibu. rules state that it must be factory so im trying to tweak that just a fuzz. Also does anyone have any idea on steel spindles to get rid of the aluminum stock? Thanks in advance

Wondering if the rules stating it must be factory, are reffering to only the bumper itself must be a stock bumper from any auto? If so, Im thinking grab any bumper you like and feel comfortable with and you can drill a few new holes and mount it up without an issue.. best of luck 👍

Junkyardsog.. you make a solid point, I’m just not 100% sure. All it states is bumpers must be factory. I figure if I can find a nice bumper that will bolt directly up to the current mounts they wouldn’t know the difference.

I'd call promotor an ask if it has to be factory to that car or if they just want factory bumper off any auto. Or if it has to be off any factory compact. If that's the case of go get a amc eagle bumper, duster, nova, Riviera
Anyone figure out the aluminum knuckles swap out yet??
You can replace the grand am spindles with the steel spindles off a cavalier. Will require using the hub, caliper and rotor as well but changes the hub to the small bolt pattern

Do the axles in the grand am fit inside the hubs and all or do the axles or hubs need to be modified?? And do the hubs assemblies and all just bolt right in place of the aluminum ones?
