OK i recently got a engine protector and the front plate only has the two bolt holes where the pump bolts on. But on a sbc there is a small water passage on the passenger side of the block i have asked a couple guys and they say just plug it. My ?is what where does it go and how important is it?

When installing the curve kit in the distributor, which set of springs is everyone using? I was thinking just going with the middle kit and seeing how it ran. Possibly swap it out if it acted up.

what can i do to make it run cooler? you need to get the timing right and the fuel curve when they are right it takes longer for an engine to get hot and alky makes a difference

You can run 30 over pistons in a 40 over engine. My suggestion is if you are using hypertech pistons to not do it, but of you are running a cast piston they will expand an you will still have clearance so they don't scuff. You ring gap will be larger and you will lose some compression due to blow by. So if its high compression high hp high torque you are wanting not the best idea but can help on derby situations, with some of the right components with it.
