Would a 75 monte carlo be any good for a chainstock class? Very stock rules. No bumper swaps, enging cross breeding, no notching or tucking, etc

Looking like I need to change the front sheet metal on my wife's 77 Malibu. Don't have access to any other 70s mid size fenders or anything. Anybody have any recommendations on good doghouses I should look for and use? Will have a 67 imperial clip soon but I think the proportions might be a little too far off? Any input? Could also use a bumper swap I will be creasing the frame horns while the clip is off and will crease the fenders and roll the hood....

its been rumored before that 73-77 malibu clips, etc will fit on a metric GM... could possibly work the opposing way too..

Any one build a 77 cutless? It's for a bone stock show. should i tuck the truck and notch the frame? is the stock bumper on this car good? the rear bumper is in real bad shape should i see if i can find another or just leave it as is and tuck and notch? any other tips would be great thanks

Might not line up perfectly, but nothing a little welding would not fix. Put the fenders on and get them up where you want, and then make the core support match and space at the core support mount as needed.

Anyone got any specific tips for a 75 malibu wagon? specific spots to focus on or things to make sure and do? Should I sedagon this car like I did with my 77 olds wagon?

Here is the problem with sedagoning one of these "stock". While the body gets a little tougher, it puts more stress on the humps. If you do decide to sedagon it, i would prebend and build it to pack. I thought there was a post about building these somewhat like people are doing with the bubble wagons now, and i'm pretty sure there are pics of these floating around on here. chain the humps, prebend the quarters, bubble the roof and notch/dimple. If you can leaf/hump plate them they are completely different animals. (not mine) There are more pics in the pics section

What rules are you building to? Anything specific you need help with? I need tips is kinda broad. You will have better luck getting replies if you are specific. Guys don't wanna sit down and type out every single step in building a car for you.

Well without being able to leaf it you need to build it a lot like a malibu wagon. I ran a 74 malibu, serpentine notched it and loved the results in the back. The passenger side front frame rail is the weak spot and will need attention. Mine bellied at the firewall after three derbies with the front still straight. Austin is this you? If so it would be much easier for me to just come by and show you. Lol
